🏃Bishan parkrun Event #309 – 2 May 2026
In spite of the Labour Day holiday, the energy at Bishan parkrun was no slouch compared to usual. With 102 parkrunners in attendance, it was—as with every first parkrun of the month—our pacing weekend. We had three pacers this Saturday; kudos to Lilette, Scott, and Alan for leading the way with such powerful strides!

Aside from our routine activities, a special mention must go to our event team for getting together to complete a 50km run before the weekend parkrun even began—that’s ten parkruns one after another! Special mention to our Event Director, Jessica for this commemorative and powerful effort - showing that fitness can come at any age, at any time, and in many different forms.

🏆Commemorative Awards

Jumping at the occasion and post-run thrill, Jessica presented the annual parkrun awards to two of our most active junior participants in the community:

Ava Mcaulay – Volunteered at the highest number of events.
Ethan Yau – Participated in the highest number of events.

In the adult category, we were pleased to present the parkrun milestone to the following participant(s):

Emma Mcaulay - 100th parkrun milestone

“As we mark another year of cohesion with the community, the active participation never fails to amaze me time and again. Let us all keep it up to ensure that Bishan parkrun continues to flourish in the years to come.”
— Jessica So, Event Director

“Don’t forget to capture the moment and celebrate your milestones with us! There will always be a place for you at Bishan parkrun—whether as a participant or as a volunteer.”
— Raymond Quek, Social Media Manager

✌️It’s a double celebration at Bishan parkrun as we toast to another year of excellence for both the event and our dedicated Event Director, Jessica—who happens to share the exact same birthday!

💬Reflecting on the many milestone achieved since day 1 (21 April 2018), Jessica is incredibly proud of the close-knit community that we have collectively fostered at bishan parkrun. It is a space where friendliness is the default, and newcomers and visitors are always welcomed.

🏃Bishan parkrun Event #308 – 25 April 2026
We closed out April in the best way possible—celebrating 8 memorable years in the community, exchanging smiles and bustling energy at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park.

🏃104 parkrunners came together on this monumental day to mark our 8th anniversary. It was a beautiful mix of loyal regulars and fresh faces, all bonded by the shared anticipation of a birthday morning.

🎉The pavilion was decked out in festive decorations, adding an extra spark to the high-energy atmosphere our community brings every Saturday.

💬Of which, 20 parkrunners visited Bishan parkrun for the first time, with another 10 parkrunners completing their very first parkrun ever.

💕Coincidentally, this parkrun marks your official "parkrun birthday." We hope this is the first of many, and we can’t wait to see you back on the course next week—and again for our 9th anniversary next year!

💪Thank you to everyone who has made the last eight years so special. Whether you've been with us since our first steps on 21 April 2018 or joined us for the first time today, you are what makes Bishan parkrun heart of this park.

👟Since our very first steps on 21 April 2018, Bishan parkrun has grown from a small gathering into a Saturday morning staple. Today’s Event #308 was extra special as we looked back on nearly a decade of PB attempts, first-timer nerves, and cheers of joy at the finish funnel.

📣Following a concise run briefing by Run Director XinShuang, our Event Director Jessica shared some heart-warming milestones. Having been with Bishan parkrun since day one, Jessica has witnessed our community's growth firsthand.

She proudly presents TWO awards to our standout regulars: 🏆 Lilette: Recognized for her incredible dedication as the participant with the most parkruns attended at Bishan.
🧡 Kelvin: Honored for his selfless contribution with the most volunteer sessions completed.

☕️Post-run Gathering
Adding to the stellar hospitality at Grub Pasta Kitchen (Bishan Park), parkrunners were treated to extra smiles today with a birthday cake on the house!
