SNM Residents Enjoy Father’s Day-Themed Arts and Crafts Session

In celebration of Father’s Day ahead of the occasion, our male residents at SNM Nursing Home@Riverwalk enjoyed a special arts and crafts session on 9 June 2026.

Through finger and palm painting, residents expressed their creativity through colourful artwork, each piece reflecting their unique touch. They also decorated tie-shaped crafts, transforming simple cut-outs into personalised Father’s Day keepsakes.

The session was filled with smiles, laughter, and fond memories as residents shared stories while working on their creations. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and the pride they took in completing their artwork.

More than just an art activity, the session brought everyone together for a meaningful afternoon of creativity, connection, and celebration. ❤

On 20 June 2026, SNM (Singapore) marked its 78th Anniversary at our newest facility, SNM Nursing Home@Riverwalk, in the company of our leaders, members, seniors, and community partners.

We were honoured to welcome Dr Syed Harun Alhabsyi, MP for Nee Soon GRC (Nee Soon Link) and Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of National Development and the Ministry of Education, as our Guest of Honour, together with Mr Jackson Lam, MP for Nee Soon GRC (Nee Soon East).

Reflecting on the organisation’s growth as we celebrated this occasion at our newest nursing home, he also thanked our staff and community partners for helping us reach this milestone. Dr Syed Harun congratulated SNM on 78 years of dedicated service and shared his hope that SNM Nursing Home@Riverwalk will continue to play an integral role within the community.

The celebrations began with a vibrant fusion of Indian dance performances by students from Global Indian International School (GIIS), followed by an energetic dance item by seniors from SNM AAC@Race Course that had the audience clapping along.

A highlight of the afternoon was the cake-cutting ceremony, where everyone came together to celebrate SNM’s 78th birthday. Guests then enjoyed a hearty lunch and the opportunity to connect with one another.

The event concluded with tokens of appreciation presented to Dr Syed Harun, Mr Jackson Lam, and the GIIS students for being part of this special milestone. On 29 May 2026, our seniors from SNM AAC@Race Course took part in the National Health Group (NHG)'s 15M Hungry Games cooking competition at Bukit Canberra Integrated Hub, spending an exciting day cooking, learning, and connecting with others in the community.

Representing the centre, our seniors formed three teams and proudly showcased their culinary talents. In the morning round, two teams prepared their signature fried rice dishes, SenXiational Fried Rice and Wok'd Prawn Delight. Later in the day, the third team impressed the judges with their creation, EnTHAIcing Golden Fried Rice.

The competition gave our seniors the opportunity to present their dishes before a distinguished panel of judges, including Chef S R Bala, Founder of X Empire Cuisine; Chef Eric Neo, Culinary Director at Capella Singapore; NHG's Senior Dietitian Saranya; and Nutritionist Sneha Bala.

Beyond the competition, our seniors explored the event hall, participated in interactive activities, enjoyed cooking demonstrations, and received goodie bags. As a token of appreciation, each participant received both a plush toy and voucher. The smiles on their faces said it all—they had a wonderful time engaging with the various programmes and meeting new people.

More than just a cooking competition, the event celebrated healthy living, active ageing, and community spirit. We thank NHG and all partners involved for creating such a meaningful and enjoyable experience for our seniors. ❤

CEO Succession Planning

A Curtain Raiser Communique on Leadership Transition at Sree Narayana Mission (Singapore)

As part of Sree Narayana Mission's ongoing commitment to good governance and leadership continuity, the EXCO has formally commenced a structured CEO Succession Planning process.
This marks an important step in ensuring that SNM remains well-positioned to continue serving our community and to advance our mission in the years ahead.

Over the past decade, under Mr Devendran's stewardship, SNM has undergone a significant transformation. From a single nursing home, SNM has evolved into a growing multi-service eldercare organisation, strengthened partnerships across government and the community sector, expanded its reach, and established itself as a respected contributor to Singapore's eldercare landscape.

Much of this progress has been shaped by Dev's vision and his deep belief in what SNM could become. Through challenges and opportunities alike, he has led with conviction and an unwavering
commitment to the seniors, residents and families entrusted to our care. Beyond the growth in facilities and services, his leadership has helped strengthen SNM's reputation, broaden its impact and
position the organisation for its next chapter of growth and service.

We are grateful for the contribution he has made to SNM's growth and development over the past decade.

In the true spirit of stewardship, Dev has also been an active partner in helping shape this succession process. He remains fully engaged as CEO and will continue to provide leadership, guidance and continuity throughout the transition, helping to ensure that SNM's mission and momentum remain strong.

At the same time, SNM's progress has always been a collective achievement. It has been made possible by the dedication of our staff, the commitment of our management team, the guidance of
our Board of Trustees and the EXCO, the contributions of our volunteers and members, and the trust of our donors, partners and supporters.

Our services, growth plans and strategic priorities remain firmly on track. As we look ahead to the next phase of SNM's journey, including the development of our third nursing home and the expansion of our services to meet growing community needs, our focus remains unchanged: delivering compassionate care, upholding dignity in ageing, and serving our community with
excellence.

We thank Mr Devendran for his leadership and acknowledge the contributions of every member of the SNM family who has helped shape our journey.

Addendum

We have received a few queries following our CEO Succession Planning announcement and would like to provide some additional context.

Mr Devendran remains fully engaged as CEO of Sree Narayana Mission and will continue to lead the organisation throughout the succession planning process. The CEO Succession Planning Task Force has been established to identify and appoint a successor, followed by an appropriate transition and handover period. We anticipate this process taking place over the coming year.

We hope this provides some additional clarity and thank everyone for their continued support.

Our residents from SNM Nursing Home@Chong Pang had a wonderful time on 9 June 2026 when Cycling Without Age (CWA) brought them on a trishaw ride around Yishun. The ride gave them a chance to enjoy the fresh air, revisit familiar places, and take in the sights of the neighbourhood.

Among the residents were Retinam and Kappaya, a devoted husband-and-wife couple, who shared the trishaw ride together. Sitting side by side, they enjoyed the scenic views and treasured the opportunity to spend quality time with each other.

The outing was filled with smiles, laughter, and happy moments, creating meaningful memories for everyone involved. A big thank you to CWA for bringing such joy and making this special experience possible for our residents. ❤

On 22 May 2026, our seniors at SNM AAC@RaceCourse enjoyed a heartwarming gathering to celebrate Mother’s Day and the birthdays of our May-born seniors.

The afternoon began with a delightful spread of food, including dishes lovingly prepared by our seniors themselves. Students from the NUS Tamil Language Society (NUS TLS) then led a clay-moulding activity, where seniors designed and created their own personalised keychains. From flowers to animals and other imaginative shapes, each creation reflected their creativity and individuality.

The fun continued with a picture-guessing game featuring items from the past. The activity sparked lively conversations, fond memories, and plenty of laughter as seniors put their knowledge to the test.

Adding to the festivities was a surprise six-minute dance performance by our long-time volunteer, Poh Sun Wei. His energetic performance brought smiles and cheers, making the celebration even more memorable for everyone.

A heartfelt thank you to the students from NUS TLS for their enthusiasm and thoughtful planning, and to Poh Sun Wei for his continued dedication and for bringing so much joy to our seniors. ❤
