Diotrephes loved preeminence, was power hungry and directed all to himself.

John, on the other hand, sought to bring people to God and directed his every work to God.

At a time where the world has become a stage to be conquered, will you seek God and allow Him to use you for His glory, or seek to use God for your glory?

At the miracle of the multiplication of loaves, 5000 gathered to hear Jesus preach and later on were fed with bread and fish. Afterwards, scripture says that the disciples gathered the leftovers as commanded by Jesus. 5000 listened to Jesus, received from Jesus and witnessed His miracle, yet only 12 remained to do what Jesus asked.

In today’s world we often go to church, hear the Gospel, pray, witness or even receive miracles, and are supplied with more than what we need. Yet, so few respond to God’s call to follow Him.

This life already has so many 5000s; will you be one of the 12?

Today, we often use Christ’s sacrifice on the cross as our excuse, freedom to keep sinning. Like Barabbas who was freed from the consequences of his sins when Jesus took his place, we, too, so easily take salvation as our entitlement, rather than grace that we don’t deserve.

In a world filled with Barabbas, we are called to look to Christ as Dismas did while hanging on the cross next to Jesus. To not see ourserselves as equal to Jesus, rather, as one who earns worse than what He suffered yet was given so much more than what we deserve. By humbly admitting his fallen nature and submitting to Christ’s lordship, Dismas received a place in paradise. And that, my friends, is the real freedom.

In a world full of Barabbas, be a Dismas.

Now more than ever, the mockery rings loud. Evil is out and laughing.

Yet most Christians stay mum amidst injustice and violence, inactive against blasphemy and sacrilege, neutral over the sanctity of life.

The indifference from within the flock is the modern plague.

Will the real Christian, please, stand up?

A banquet like no other. It is the heavenly feast and we are invited. The outsiders, the sinners, the unworthy.
