Ignite Your Coaching Edge: June Coaching Skills Enhancement (CSE) Session! 🌱

As coaches, we have an instinct to want to help. We hunger for information and brim with ideas for the person sitting in front of us. However, the most profound shift in our practice happens when we move from being a solution-provider to an insight-igniter.

Let's push past the familiar, stretch our skills, and engage in collaborative peer learning, this is the room we need to be in!

Join our Coaching Skills Enhancement (CSE) session, anchored in the signature methodology developed by Tony Latimer, MCC, BCC.

✨ What We Will Experience Together:

πŸ”₯ The "Hot Seat" Catalyst: Volunteer as the coachee to gain real-time clarity on your challenges through the diverse perspectives of professional peers.

πŸ”„ Shifting the Instinct: Transform the natural urge to give advice into the skill of asking provocative, forward-moving questions.

πŸ’‘ Bold Experimentation: Safely test boundary-pushing techniques, like the "Gossip Round" in a supportive, zero marketing space.

⏱️ Real Time Instincts: Use strict time limits to bypass overthinking and train yourself to trust your raw coaching instincts in the moment.

Why You Need to Be Here
There are no bystanders. The structure itself creates accountability and an active learning environment. Whether you are actively coaching, experimenting with new lenses, or sitting in the hot seat, the growth always finds you.

Come experience the session that past participants have called intriguing, enlightening, compassionate, and joyful.

πŸ›‘οΈ Safe Space & Punctuality Guidelines
To foster a psychologically safe environment where our coachees can comfortably share personal challenges, please observe the following:

Cameras On: All attendees must keep their cameras on for the entire session to build mutual trust. Participants unable to do so will be removed to protect the group's confidentiality.

Strict Punctuality: To preserve the learning dynamic, no one will be admitted after 7:40 PM or once breakout sessions begin (whichever is earlier).

We deeply appreciate your understanding and punctuality.

When Coaching Becomes a Collective Act 🌱

May's Coaching Skills Enhancement (CSE) Community of Practice session left us with something more valuable than technique - it left us with perspective.

Our CSE sessions carry out the signature process developed by Tony Latimer, MCC, BCC a methodology 25 years in the making, shaped by corporate practice. The session was a masterclass in what happens when you design deliberately for insight rather than information.

The guiding principle is to trigger fresh thought, something that is a huge challenge for most of us! As coaches we are often hungry for information and brimming with ideas to help the person sitting in front of us. The shift into asking better questions that triggers new perspectives is something that makes us better partners with the coachees rather than just being solution-providers.

⏱️ Time limits trained us to surface our thoughts in real time - no editing, no hesitation, just honest coaching instinct called out in the moment.
πŸ’¬ "Gossip Round" pushed us beyond our familiar angles, into the bold, the unexpected, and the genuinely illuminating.
πŸ”„ We we shifted across multiple lenses, as both coach and coachee, uncovering layers that a linear conversation rarely reaches.

What struck many of us was how the structure itself created accountability. Being called on individually was a quiet but powerful reminder: you are not a bystander here. You are part of this.

Participants left the room visibly thoughtful - one-word reflections told the story: intriguing, enlightening, compassionate, humbled, privileged, joyful.

The natural question arose: is this only for practice settings? Tony's answer was clear - in team and group coaching, yes. The applications extend well beyond the practice room.

A warm thank you to our facilitators Tony Latimer, Phaik Ai, Jenson Goh, Dirk-Jan and Gina for holding the space with care and skill, and to the ICF Singapore Credentialing & Practice team: Janice See Nedheya, Yan Mei T. for making these sessions possible. πŸ™

Curious what it feels like to be in that room? Join us for the next one.

Congratulations to our strategic partner, OCBC, on the success of their very first Walk & Coach sessions for employees!

SG Chapter of ICF is glad to support OCBC team in bringing to live this initiative and applaud OCBC’s strong commitment to growth and development and in building a coaching culture.

Meaningful conversations can happen beyond the confines of meeting rooms. The powerful combination of a scenic walk around the Singapore river with coaching offered a refreshing opportunity to reflect, explore and unlock new perspectives in a natural, outdoor environment.

We are excited to see this journey begin at OCBC and look forward to witnessing the positive impact coaching culture will have across the organization.

Through strategic partnerships, we’re unlocking potential together and building something greater. Our collaborations open doors to new opportunities, helping us make coaching a powerful force for positive change.

Here's to many more meaningful walks, insightful conversations, and transformational growth ahead!
