Well-being goes beyond the workplace. It is about creating space for connection, taking time to recharge, and ensuring that the people who serve our community feel valued and cared for.

Last week, AUPE had the opportunity to connect with officers from the Ministry of Finance (M*F), strengthening ties with the people we represent and highlighting how union membership can benefit them throughout their careers. These conversations reflect the partnership between AUPE and M*F management in prioritising officers’ welfare. Beyond the day-to-day demands of public service, this also means recognising the importance of mental, physical and emotional health, and fostering a workplace environment built on care and understanding.

We recognise the dedication of our public officers and the important work they do every day. AUPE remains committed to standing alongside our members, championing their interests and supporting them throughout their workplace journey.

Haze can affect our health and daily routines, including how we work. Here are 3 simple ways to protect yourself when the air quality worsens:

1. Stay informed
Check the latest PSI readings and haze advisories to plan your day accordingly.

2. Drink up
Keep a water bottle handy and drink water regularly throughout the day.

3. Take precautions outdoors
Reduce prolonged outdoor exposure to hazy conditions where possible. Consider wearing a well-fitted N95 mask when recommended, especially if you need to spend extended periods outdoors.

Strengthening Partnership. Embracing the Future of Work. 🤝

The Union-Management Steering Committee (UMSC) session was co-chaired by our General Secretary, Mr Sanjeev Tiwari (GS), and Ministry of Finance (M*F) Deputy Secretary (Development), Mr Adrian Chua (DS).

GS reaffirmed the UMSC’s role as an important platform for agencies and unions to come together, understand workplace developments, address emerging concerns and strengthen collaboration.

DS reiterated the importance of strong union-management partnerships as the workplace continues to evolve. He highlighted the growing relevance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and encouraged officers to harness AI to complement their work and serve the public more effectively.

A key focus of the session was AI adoption and its impact on the workforce and workplace workflows. M*F HQ and partner agencies shared how they are supporting officers through practical guidance, training and leadership programmes, while emphasising that AI should complement, not replace, human judgement and expertise.

As AI reshapes the way we work, strong union-management partnerships will be key to supporting officers through this transition.

The future of work is not just about technology. It is about people, partnership and purposeful progress. Together, we can move forward with no one left behind. 💙

67 Years of AUPE: A Journey Together

AUPE commemorated its 67th Anniversary with a night of celebration and fellowship, bringing together our union leaders, management partners, and old friends to mark this significant milestone. We were honoured to welcome Mr Ng Chee Meng, Secretary-General of NTUC and Minister in Prime Minister's Office, as our Guest of Honour.

The evening featured a line-up of entertainment, including a magic show and live band, alongside a lucky draw that kept the party going. We also took the opportunity to recognise and honour our long-time members and Bro Samsudin, who retired from AUPE Executive Council, thanking them for their years of dedication and support to AUPE.

As we look towards the years ahead, AUPE remains committed to standing collectively with our members through the evolving landscape of AI and technology, and responding to their emerging needs. We also look forward to renewing our legacy with a bigger, better and more purposeful home for our members, targeted for completion in three years. To support this redevelopment, we will be launching a Building Fund and inviting our stakeholders to contribute towards this shared vision.

Here’s to 67 years of standing together, serving our members and shaping the future of AUPE.

AUPE was glad to be part of Next Chapter 2026: Celebrating New Possibilities, Purpose and Connection, bringing together retirees and officers approaching retirement from the Singapore Public Service Alumni (SPSA).

The event was a meaningful opportunity for participants to reflect on life beyond a formal career and the possibilities that come with a new chapter. At our AUPE booth, we shared more about the services and support available to our members while challenging visitors to tackle our various puzzles.

As our members move through different stages of their lives and careers, AUPE remains committed to being a source of support, connection and community, every step of the way.

SNCF welcomes new Executive Council for 2026–2029 term

The Singapore National Co-operative Federation (SNCF) has refreshed its Executive Council following its 16th Triennial General Assembly, welcoming several new representatives while retaining experienced members from the previous Council.

Among the new appointments is Radin Mas MP Mr Melvin Yong Yik Chye, who has been elected First Deputy Chairperson of SNCF. He succeeds Ms Thian Ai Ling in the role, while Mr Tng Ah Yiam continues as Chairperson and Mr Shareef Bin Abdul Jaffar as Second Deputy Chairperson.

We are also pleased to see Mr Sanjeev Tiwari, CE of AUPE Credit Co-operative, continue to serve on the Executive Council for the new three-year term.
We extend our congratulations to the new and returning members of the SNCF Executive Council and wish them a meaningful and successful term ahead.
