We are deeply honoured to be presented with an Appreciation Award at the Centre for Domestic Employees (CDE)'s 10th Anniversary Celebration on 21 June 2026. 🌟

Programme Manager at Carehaven, Ms. Maureen Kho, received the award on behalf of The Salvation Army from Guest of Honour Mr. Dinesh Vasu Dash, Senior Minister of State for Manpower - a recognition we receive with deep humility and gratitude.

The Salvation Army's Carehaven and Sojourn offers crisis and practical support for female and male migrant workers respectively, including foreign domestic workers, who have experienced trauma or displacement. Beyond providing a safe space, both programmes aim to give a voice to those who are often left unheard; attending to their daily needs, providing counselling and casework support, and facilitating meaningful activities that help to restore their confidence for the future.

A heartfelt congratulations to CDE on a remarkable decade of championing the welfare and dignity of Singapore's domestic employees. Thank you for your unwavering commitment, and for walking alongside us in creating safe spaces for those who are too often left unseen and unheard. Here's to many more years of standing together for those who need it most. 💛

When families migrate to Chiang Mai in search of work, the transition from village safety to urban vulnerability is severe. 🇹🇭

Parents working long hours to make ends meet often have no choice but to leave their children unattended, assuming the city is as safe as their home village. The reality is far more dangerous, exposing displaced youth to exploitation, with no one watching over them.

The Salvation Army’s intervention focuses on family preservation through child education support, family strengthening and equipping families with sustainable livelihoods - providing vital resources to parents so they don’t have to leave their children at risk.

With more than 14 years in the industry, Kok Chin is widely regarded as one of the top estate planners in Singapore.

His career story mirrors his clients’ financial journey and awareness - he started out advising clients on holistic financial planning but as more and more needed intimate advice on wealth transference to their children, Kok Chin honed his skills in estate and legacy planning.
