P.S. - This bunch of youths are so fun loving that you can never stop smiling and laughing ^.^ About Hong Kah North CC Youth Executive Committee
The Hong Kah North CC Youth Executive Committee is a youth club under the umbrella of the People’s Association Youth Movement (PAYM). The functions of the committee are to promote social cohesiveness and national consciousness among youths; channel youth energies to constructive pursuits; foster leadership qualities and diverse abilities among youths; and to engage the youths and bridge the community. The committee frequently organizes activities and courses to achieve the above objectives. To reach out to the needy families, the committee organizes free tuition classes through its Coaching Class, which was recognized through a Special Projects Award from the PAYM. In July 08, Youth-iFIED! 2008 was organized to engage youths from all walks of life with diverse interests in entrepreneurship, music and sports. The committee also co-organized Earth Hour 2009 and 2010 with Hong Kah North GROs and Environmental Challenge Organisation (ECO) Singapore in the constituency and contributed to creating environmental awareness through its creative lights-out activities. In the areas of sports, HKNCC YEC organized a street soccer competition, Futbol Loco in 2009 and experimented with non-mainstream sports, like obstacle courses in Forest Adventure and go-karting at Johor Bahru. The YEC also strives to inculcate social responsibility and awareness through several PAYM policy forums and blood donation drives in collaboration with Singapore Red Cross Society. The committee frequently obtains feedback from participants to improve its activities. This year, its major community activities strive to create greater community outreach and to build up a diversity of talents among youths.
