𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲.

Today's lunchtime talk reminded us that planning ahead isn't simply about legal documents. It's about making informed decisions while we're still able to, giving ourselves and our loved ones greater clarity and peace of mind.

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸.

For the second year running, 𝗖𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 welcomed ABLE as part of its Primary 5 VIA programme, creating an opportunity for students and our clients to spend time together through shared activities, conversations and creativity.

Origami, clay making, board games and music became more than just activities. They became opportunities to patiently guide one another, make space for everyone to take part, and discover how small acts of inclusion can make a meaningful difference.

Thank you to Cedar Primary School for welcoming us back for a second year, and to the teachers who thoughtfully worked with us to ensure every activity could be enjoyed by everyone.

When young people grow up interacting with persons with physical disabilities, inclusion becomes part of everyday life.

This National Day, thank you for celebrating the many ways people find belonging with us.

Every answer was different.

Together, they reminded us that belonging is something we build with one another.

Visitors tried everyday tasks using just one hand and explored activities designed to offer a glimpse into the challenges faced by persons with acquired physical disabilities.

One visitor shared, "𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻'𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴."

For many Singaporeans, the Kallang Wave is something we've watched on television year after year.

At this year's National Day Parade Preview, our clients and caregivers experienced it for themselves after being invited to join the celebrations at the National Stadium. 🇸🇬

Joining the Kallang Wave alongside thousands of fellow Singaporeans was a special moment. Singing along to familiar National Day songs and cheering during the fireworks made the evening even more memorable.

For some, it had been years since they last attended a National Day Parade. For others, it was their very first experience. It was an evening they won't soon forget.

A special thank you to the Youth Corps Singapore befrienders, whose encouragement and companionship made the evening even more enjoyable for our clients and caregivers.

Thank you to the NDP26 Outreach Committee, National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre and NCSS Singapore for making this memorable evening possible.

𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁'𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗝𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘀 (𝗪𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘇𝗮).

Following the race and family walk, many participants stopped by the beneficiary booths to learn more about the causes and communities behind each organisation.

We were especially encouraged by the number of people who wanted to find out how they could support our work. Seeing so many express an interest in volunteering was a wonderful reminder that there are people who genuinely want to make a difference.

The kindness we saw from visitors was echoed behind the scenes as well. From the warm welcome by our neighbours at Down Syndrome Association - Singapore and New Life Stories, to the thoughtful support from ITE College West, who made sure every beneficiary organisation had enough space to set up, and and even kept us going with fruit and drinks throughout the morning, every gesture made us feel so welcome.

Thank you to President's Challenge, ITE College West, and everyone who stopped by our booth and helped make the day such a meaningful one. It was a joy to be part of a community coming together in support of so many meaningful causes.

After spending nearly a decade out of the workforce following a below-knee amputation, Rosley found more than a job when he returned to work. He found purpose, confidence, and the opportunity to move forward.

This National Day, we're celebrating the people, places and moments that make us feel like we belong. For Rosley, belonging began with the opportunity to contribute again.

ABLE has been selected as one of the IPCs for 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱, a meaningful initiative that supports charities in raising awareness through Singapore's transit network.
