That’s a wrap on The Work Panel.
Yesterday, we brought together a small group of young people and professionals for an open conversation about something most of us are still figuring out: work, careers, and what comes next.
Together with Andee Tay, Kar Men Lim, Fan Wei Chung and Dione Chen, we talked about career paths that don’t always go according to plan, knowing when something is no longer working for you, mentorship and support systems, advocating for yourself, and navigating uncertainty when simply walking away from a difficult situation isn’t always an option.
One thing that came through strongly was that there really isn’t one roadmap to a successful career.
Our experiences, including the ones that don’t work out, can still teach us something about what we’re good at, what matters to us, and what we want to do next. Changing direction doesn’t necessarily mean starting again.
And perhaps just as importantly, we don’t have to figure all of it out alone.
