Day 1️⃣, 28 March:
In the next segment, participants got to partake in an enriching series of talks and panels, featuring seven experts in the fields of Wildlife Trade, Wildlife Health and Wildlife Conservation — divided into two tracks.
The first track, “”Wild Trades, Viral Consequences”” bridged the fields of Wildlife Trade and One Health. Our speakers discussed practical strategies that can enhance wildlife trade regulations and reduce disease transmission risks. The second track, “Human-Wildlife Interfaces” examined contact points where human systems (urban expansion, global trade etc) intersect with ecological systems. Our participants were left deeply inspired after an afternoon of engaging discussions!
We would like to express our incredible gratitude to our 7 speakers for coming down to share their knowledge:
TRACK 1:
- Dr. Nur Indah Ahmad, a veterinarian and Senior Lecturer at Universiti Putra Malaysia
- Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, a veterinarian and One Health Team Leader for the Wildlife Conservation Society Vietnam Program
- Mr. Nheden Amiel Sarne, Director of the Biodiversity Conservation Division, Programmes Department of the ASEAN Centre of Biodiversity in the Philippines
TRACK 2:
