Bringing the Newton community together, over the King of Fruits!

Yesterday, Newton Residents’ Network had the pleasure of hosting a durian party Cairnhill CC , bringing together Advisor Alvin Tan and the Chairpersons from condominiums across Newton.

We enjoyed meaningful conversations, strengthened partnerships, and exchanged ideas on how we can continue working together to build a caring, connected, and vibrant Newton community.

The Kapok Tree (Ceiba Pentandra) ☁️🌳, also called Java cotton, ceiba, or Java kapok, is currently blooming beside Laselle College of the Arts at 9 Winstedt Road — scattering soft white bursts across its branches like floating cotton candy.

Because the blooming window is relatively short, spotting one in full display in urban Singapore is really quite special! If you’re passing by Monk’s Hill Road or Winstedt Road, look up and catch this fleeting sight before the blooms drift away with the wind ✨
