Established in 1985, we seek to maintain a high standard of professional qualification. The Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (SILA) is a non-profit organisation representing the Landscape Architectural professional in Singapore. It was established in 1985 to advance the science and art of Landscape Architecture and the theory and practice of landscape, environmental, and urban design; to promote research and education therein; and to create and maintain a high standard of professional qualification.

SILA Technical Tour | Exploring Punggol’s Evolving Landscape

More than 40 participants joined SILA on 9 October 2026 for an engaging walking tour exploring the evolving landscape of Punggol, Singapore’s eco-town in the Northeast.

The tour took participants through three distinctive destinations, each showcasing how landscape architecture contributes to the integration of nature, infrastructure and community.

Punggol Digital District – Exploring how blue and green infrastructure is integrated within a multi-complex development.

Punggol Heritage Trail – Discovering how Old Punggol Road has been reimagined as a lush green corridor.

Play @ Punggol – Experiencing a vibrant waterfront shaped by a curated series of playscapes.

Through insights shared by the project consultant teams, participants gained a closer look at the design considerations, challenges and solutions behind these landscape projects.

A big thank you to the project teams and everyone who joined us for an insightful afternoon of learning, exchange and exploration!
