Master the Art of Invisible Anterior Composite Restorations

Join this one-day course designed to help clinicians achieve predictable, natural-looking anterior direct composite restorations. Through a combination of lectures, clinical case discussions, and hands-on training, participants will gain practical insights into tooth colour analysis, composite shade selection, layering strategies, and modern restorative workflows.

Learn how to understand the relationship between colour, morphology, and light, while exploring key concepts such as clinical photography, bevel design, incisal characterisation, whitening protocols, and techniques for reproducing natural tooth morphology and surface texture. The course also includes step-by-step demonstrations and a hands-on Class IV anterior restoration workshop, allowing participants to apply simplified shade selection and layering techniques in a clinical setting.

By the end of the program, attendees will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and decision-making framework needed to consistently deliver aesthetic, lifelike anterior composite restorations with greater confidence and predictability.

SDA launches the Voluntary Training Framework

The Singapore Dental Association is pleased to introduce the SDA Voluntary Training Framework — a voluntary, supportive framework designed to help dental professionals document their professional development and clinical experience.

The framework provides practical tools including clinical and training logs, peer review, and structured peer assessment.

It is entirely voluntary, with no quotas and no pressure to change your practice for documentation. Members may choose to use the SDA Voluntary Training Framework, the SDC COC framework, or both.

The clinical log, training log and peer review form will be available on the SDA Members' Portal from Wednesday, 5 August 2026. Members may use some of the tools, all of them, or none of them — the choice is yours.

Swipe through to learn more about the framework and how it works.

Minimally Invasive Periodontal Therapy Protocols: When is the use of a biomaterial indicated?

Please join the webinar lecture by Dr Marisa Roncati (BS, RDH, DDS) on 27 August 2026 (7-9pm SGT). This lecture presents a series of real clinical cases exploring when biomaterials should, and should not, be used in periodontal and peri-implant therapy. Ten evidence-based clinical cases will be presented with long-term follow up results.

Learning objectives:
(1) Provide clear indications for motivation techniques and strategies that facilitate effective long-term patient involvement, as patient engagement is a key factor influencing the clinical outcomes of any treatment.

(2) Illustrate detailed, step-by-step protocols for the treatment of periodontal and peri-implant diseases, supported by numerous videos and clinical cases with longitudinal follow-up, all based on scientific evidence.

(3) Specify, elaborate on, and highlight the indications and limitations associated with the use of biomaterials in conjunction with surgical and non-surgical periodontal therapy.

With over 35 years of clinical and academic experience, Dr Marisa Roncati is an internationally recognized expert in periodontal and peri-implant disease treatment and laser-assisted procedures – and author of multiple evidence-based books on non-surgical periodontal therapy.

Understanding and Managing Dentine Hypersensitivity

Dentine Hypersensitivity (DH) is a common yet often misunderstood dental condition that can significantly impact patients’ quality of life. Characterized by sharp, short-lived pain triggered by stimuli such as hot or cold foods and beverages, sweet or acidic substances, brushing, or flossing, DH remains a frequent challenge in daily dental practice.

Join Dr Edwin Heng Chia Kian, a distinguished specialist in Periodontics, for an insightful webinar exploring the causes, diagnosis, and evidence-based management of dentine hypersensitivity.

Particular attention will be given to the relationship between periodontitis and DH, where periodontal destruction and root exposure can increase the prevalence and severity of sensitivity.

This educational session will provide dental professionals with practical knowledge and clinical strategies to accurately identify, assess, and manage dentine hypersensitivity, helping to improve patient outcomes and comfort.

🦷✨ A to Z Molar Endodontics 4 Days Down!
What an incredible workshop with Dr. Abhishek Parolia! From diagnosis and CBCT on Day 1 to mastering MB2, C shaped, and severely curved canals under the microscope by Day 4, our participants showed up and levelled up. 💪

The group discussions were fruitful, with everyone digging deep into real clinical challenges and learning from each other's experience. The hands-on sessions under the microscope were hugely helpful. And throughout it all, the energy in the room was simply unmatched. 👏

We also got to celebrate Dr. Abhi's birthday during the course 🎂🎉 Thank you for sharing your knowledge AND your special day with us!

Huge thanks to our partners Dentsply Sirona, Eastland Dental Supplies, Zeiss, and Sunny Dental Medical Supply for supporting this workshop.
Until the next one! 🔬
