Good facilitation is not about being the loudest voice in the room.
At our recent Community of Practice, we brought together programme alumni, practitioners, volunteers and partners to unpack what really works when facilitating groups.
Here’s what came up:
- Everyone feels engaged and included
- Clear direction, but flexible to the group
- People learn from each other, not just the facilitator
- Safe spaces matter more than perfect delivery
We also kept it real:
- Staying on topic is tough
- Not everyone feels comfortable speaking up
- Energy and engagement can dip
- What happens between sessions matters just as much
Grateful for the sharing from , , , for sharing the space and learning together, one conversation at a time.
