Meet Roy, an avid volunteer and kayaker in Waterways Watch Society! What started as a jog past the Waterways Watch Society office turned into a new chapter of purpose, fitness, and environmental action.

From kayak volunteer patrols to facilitating CSR events, Roy stays active while protecting Singapore’s waterways. Since retiring as a doctor, he’s earned his 2-star kayaking certification and is training for his 3-star - proving that it’s never too late to learn, grow, and make a difference.

💚 His message to others? “It’s never too late to volunteer and do something meaningful.”

Over the past year, WWS has partnered with 63 schools and 292 corporate organisations, engaging more than 15,216 students and 9,578 adults and seniors through our VIA and CSR programmes. Today, at our Annual General Meeting, we reflected not just on these milestones — but also on the challenges that lie ahead.

While student engagement rose by 2% and corporate participation by 14%, the volume of litter collected has also increased — by 13% in schools and an alarming 34% in corporate clean-ups.

This reveals a sobering reality: despite more people stepping forward, public awareness and social behaviour towards littering remain a stubborn challenge in Singapore.

At WWS, we believe the way forward lies in deepening education, strengthening partnerships, and inspiring collective responsibility. The work continues, and with your support, we can make lasting change.

A big thank you to all our dedicated members who joined us at the AGM this year — your commitment drives our mission forward.

💭 Ever wondered what your donation actually supports?

It funds real experiences — ones that bring people together, spark new perspectives, and inspire action.

At Waterways Watch Society, our free VIA (Values-in-Action) programmes aren’t just clean-up activities. They open minds to the importance of clean water, and hearts to the beauty of protecting it.

Whether by kayak, boat, bike, or on foot, every action counts. And behind every action? People like YOU.

With Tote Board matching every dollar, your donation creates twice the impact to fund clean-up programmes like these!

This is why we do what we do.

Behind every clean-up effort, every paddle, every piece of litter picked — is a story. A student learning responsibility, seniors rediscovering purpose, a family bonding over nature.

Through our free VIA (Values-in-Action) programmes, supported by your donations, we empower individuals of all ages to take small steps that create big ripples.💦

Your support makes this possible — and every $1 you give is matched dollar-by-dollar by Tote Board.

Together, let’s build a cleaner, greener Singapore! 🌱

Meet Clarisse, our 19-year-old intern at Waterways Watch Society (WWS), as she takes us through her two-month journey supporting environmental efforts behind the scenes. From managing logistics and admin tasks to assisting during waterways clean-ups, Clarisse shares how even small contributions can create meaningful impact! 💪

Through this internship, she’s learned the value of teamwork, communication, and the unseen work that keeps WWS running. Whether you’re curious about interning with us or just want a glimpse into life at an environmental organisation - this is her story. ✨📖
