Radin Mas CC Youth Network (YN)

Established in 1977, the Radin Mas Youth Executive Club (RMYEC) is an youth voluntary organisation committed to serving the community. Made up of youths between the ages 15 and 35, RMYEC aims to reach out to youths who have a passion to contribute and make a difference in the community. rk. Located in the area with a high proportion of elderly residents, RMYEC strives to connect with the elderly and bridge the generation gap. One of our flagship programmes is the Youth Inter-generation Programme with the Elderly (YIPE). Initiated in 2004, YIPE organises activities which serves as an effective platform to encourage and facilitate interaction between youths and the elderly. Another anchor programme of RMYEC is the "Sunday Meal Programme for Public Assistance Elderly". The meal delivery programme started in January 2000 in response to the high proportion of lower income elderly residents in the area. Working hand in hand with youth volunteers, RMYEC oversees the weekly meal distribution which has benefited numerous households. In addition to these programmes. RMYEC provides a wide array of activities to reach out to youths with varied interests. Youths who are interested in keeping fit while learning self defense skills will enjoy Taekwondo which is also the longest running club under our care.

Had a good evening catching up with residents from Mount Faber Zone B at our regular chit-chat session, one of the many such engagements we hold across the different precincts in our community. Tonight, I shared updates on the latest developments in the precinct and upcoming plans to improve our living environment, while residents also took the opportunity to provide feedback and raise issues that matter to them.

We also discussed the various local assistance schemes available for residents who may be facing financial difficulties, and how they can access the support they need. Thank you to everyone who joined us this evening for the candid and constructive conversations.

Check out the incredible story behind Mr Lee’s leap of faith! 🍜✨

From circuit boards to wonton noodles, Mr Lee took a leap of faith in 2011 and has not looked back since.

I recently caught up with Mr Lee, owner of 黄记云吞面 at Blk 161 Bukit Merah Central. After years in the electronics industry, he made a mid-career switch to the hawker trade, learning the craft from a Hong Kong chef before starting his own stall.

Today, customers come for his authentic Hong Kong-style wonton noodles, featuring handmade wontons, roasted char siew and a rich, flavourful broth.

After many years at Depot Road, Mr Lee relocated to Bukit Merah Central last year and continues to attract regular customers with his signature dishes.

Every hawker has a story. Mr Lee’s journey is a reminder of the courage, perseverance and passion behind the food we enjoy every day.
