“We know that we can always drop each other a message at any time. Sometimes, we aren’t looking for a solution. We just need moral support or a listening ear.”

That’s what Herniaty found through Club Rainbow’s Care Connection programme, supported by President’s Challenge.

When her daughter Alaynaa, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, caring for her full-time often felt isolating. Finding a community of caregivers who understood her journey made all the difference.

That support gave her the strength to learn sign language to better communicate with Alaynaa. Today, she continues to give back through Club Rainbow, supporting fellow caregivers, just as others once supported her.

The support you give can become someone else’s strength to lift others. 💙

Meet Buvaneswaran, Herniaty and Shirlene, whose journeys show how care, community and connection can create ripples of change.

🎵 Once told music wasn’t for him, Buvaneswaran found support through the National Arts Council Singapore Arts Scholarship, supported by President’s Challenge. Today, he nurtures young creatives across cultures through music.

💪🏻 Herniaty faced challenges in her caregiving journey. When she needed support herself, she found a community in Club Rainbow Singapore’s Care Connection programme. Today, she pays it forward by guiding fellow caregivers with the same encouragement and listening ear that once helped her.

💛 Shirlene’s childhood was shaped by instability, until a foster family welcomed her with warmth and care. Today, she supports fellow trauma survivors and will pursue a psychology degree as a President’s Challenge Springboard Fellow, strengthening her ability to help others.

Each life empowered uplifts many others. Find out more at presidentschallenge.gov.sg/about-us/campaign

No child should be left behind because they learn differently. When Qazy first joined SHINE Children and Youth Services' Reading Odyssey programme, reading was a challenge.

With personalised support, engaging learning activities, and encouragement from trained volunteers, he began building his skills one step at a time.

Today, Qazy has advanced six reading levels and can read a Grade 3 word list. His teacher has also observed greater focus in class and a stronger willingness to take on academic tasks.

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and progress at their own pace. With the right support, children like Qazy can build confidence in their abilities and discover their strengths.

When Erica’s father was admitted to a nursing home due to dementia, her world changed at just six years old. Her mum, Mdm Marife, had to take on the dual role of caregiver and breadwinner. Working long and irregular hours in sales, she often worried about whether Erica had the support she needed after school.

At CareNights, Erica found a safe space with caring mentors, friends and activities that helped her learn, play and express herself through art. Through President’s Challenge, your support helps make programmes like CareNights possible, so more children and families can receive care, support and hope when they need it most.
