The festival was started in November 2015 by professional storyteller Roger Jenkins and The Story Line, a group of passionate amateur and professional storytellers. The festival then came under the non-profit company Story Connection Ltd, which was run by Roger Jenkins and Sheila Wee. In 2021 the ownership of the festival was transferred to the Storytelling Association (Singapore). Photographs of attendees may be taken and published by us online or in our marketing materials, at our sole discretion.

The Storytelling Association (Singapore) celebrated the 20th anniversary on 24 October 2026. There was a great sense of community and support from older members, younger members, ones with different cultural and professional background. Ex-members came to celebrate this moment.

We had support from the staff of The Malayan Council at Fullerton, caricaturist Adam Chua Caricaturist.SG and photographer Philip. We will be stronger together.

Who says storytelling is just for children?

At the 2026 398.2 Storytelling Festival, stories drew our adult audiences into moments of love, difficult choices, humour, loss and unspoken truths.
And the audience responded — listening, reacting, laughing, reflecting and recognising something of themselves in the stories.

Because some stories entertain us.
Some make us think.
And some stay with us long after the telling ends.
Stories are for grown-ups too. ❤️

Different voices. Different languages. Many ways to tell a story. 🌏✨

At the 2026 398.2 Storytelling Festival, stories came alive in English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil — each with its own rhythms, expressions and cultural flavours.

Yet across every language, we saw something wonderfully familiar: children listening, laughing, responding and joining in. ❤️

We may tell our stories differently, but the joy of sharing a story connects us.

Many voices. Many languages. One shared love of stories.

The N2 children were captivated by stories of bear, Cicak, and a little girl and her balloon. There was song, movement, props and most importantly, the tellers interacted with the kids and drew participation. Not a dull moment! Thanks to the tellers Sheila, Swee Yean and Lavanya and also to the supporting team.
This was part of the 2026 398.2 Storytelling Festival!
Mighty thanks to our librarians Lisa and Norah for coordinating the preschools to plan for the kids to explore parts of the library, to borrow books and listen to stories!
