🌏 Learning, sharing and shaping the future of Scouting!

From 5–8 September 2026, the Singapore Scout Association joined fellow National Scout Organisations across the Asia-Pacific at the Asia-Pacific Workshop on Scouts for SDGs: Empowering NSOs through Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Hong Kong.

Organised by the Scout Association of Hong Kong, the four-day workshop brought together Scouting leaders and educators from across the Region to explore how Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and initiatives such as Scouts for SDGs can be intentionally integrated into Youth Programmes — equipping young people with the knowledge, skills and values to contribute to peaceful, inclusive and resilient communities. 🌱

Representing Singapore were:
Leoh Khai Ken — Participant
Antong Shahrudin — Resource Speaker
Muhd Zikri — Resource Speaker

Through discussions, programme sharing and practical planning, the workshop provided an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas and explore how Scouting can continue to respond to the evolving needs of young people and their communities.

We are proud to see our members contributing to regional conversations on education, sustainability, youth development and the future of Scouting. 🇸🇬⚜️

From 29 August to 4 September 2026, the Singapore Contingent joined Scouts from across Malaysia and beyond at the 15th Malaysian Scout Jamboree in Penang, Malaysia. The jamboree brought together Scouts under the theme “Tracing Heritage, Building the Future” — celebrating the heritage of Scouting while looking towards its future. 🇲🇾🌏

Beyond the activities and badge swaps, the jamboree gave our Scouts the opportunity to experience Scouting from a different perspective. They got to see how Scouting is practised across the border, exchange ideas with fellow Scouts, and take home new experiences and learning opportunities to share with their own Scout Groups and carry throughout their Scouting journeys.

The jamboree was also a celebration of the strong bonds that Scouting builds across borders, a reminder that while our traditions and experiences may differ, the spirit of friendship, adventure and service continues to bring Scouts together. 🤝⚜️

From the moment they set off for Korea, our Scouts knew they were in for something special but the 16th Korea National Jamboree 2026 held from 5-9 August 2026 delivered more adventure than they could have imagined! 🏕️

Led by Mr Ang Wee Jin and Mr Enzo Buttazzoni, our contingent travelled to Seoraksan National Park in the Gangwon Province of South Korea for a week of outdoor adventure, new experiences and international friendship.

For many of our Scouts, the jamboree was more than just a camp it was a chance to step outside their comfort zones, see the world from a different perspective, and discover just how much more there is to explore.

With the theme “Peace and Planet, Ready for Future”, the 16th Korea National Jamboree brought Scouts together through adventure, sustainability, cultural exchange and friendship, proving once again that some of the best lessons are learned when we step outside our familiar surroundings.

The Young Mariners’ Badge (YMB) introduces our youth, from Cubs to Rovers, to Singapore’s rich maritime heritage while building practical maritime knowledge, teamwork, creativity and a spirit of exploration.

Through YMB 1 and YMB 2, our young Mariners explored nautical symbols, visited the Singapore Maritime Gallery and southern islands, learnt about Singapore’s marine environment, and designed boats using recycled materials.

Proudly delivered in collaboration between the Singapore Scout Association and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, the programme inspires our youth to explore, learn and discover their place in Singapore’s maritime community.

Leading the programme is Scouter Amos Lam, Programme Lead for the Young Mariners’ Badge, who works closely with Scout leaders and partners to create meaningful maritime learning experiences for our youth.

⚓ Every journey begins with a single step — chart your own course with the Young Mariners’ Badge!

Singapore has been experiencing hazy conditions over the past few days, with the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) reaching the unhealthy range.

As we prepare for our Scouting activities, it’s important to stay informed and take the necessary precautions 👀

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗛𝘆𝗺𝗻: 𝗔 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆

The Scout Hymn has been part of Singapore Scouting for generations, bringing Scouts together through a shared song and the values of the Scout Movement.

In 2025, the Singapore Scout Association renewed this familiar hymn with a new recording by our Cub Scouts, giving a new generation the opportunity to carry this piece of Scouting heritage forward.

These Cub Scouts were also part of SG60 Voices of Our Future, where they covered two National Day songs in celebration of Singapore’s 60th year.

From the original Scout Hymn to this renewed rendition, its spirit continues to live on through the voices of a new generation.

A familiar song. A new generation. A continuing legacy.
