On 19 September, we had Kampong Kakis Gathering, an appreciation event for our Friends (we refer to our volunteers as Friends)! We had icebreakers to invite our Friends from our various programmes to get to one another better. We were privilieged to invite the Kampong Harvest team to facililate the microgreens workshop. Also, we had a discussion for the hopes and gratitude for the programme. Watch the reel to have a snapshot of our event that day!

Meet Hazlina, a familiar face and wonderful supporter of our community! Together with her son, Eshan, Hazlina has been giving back to the community, stepping out of her usual routine and building meaningful connections along the way. Through her journey, Hazlina reminds us that community is built through the little moments by showing up, connecting with one another and creating memories together.

Family conflicts happen, and sometimes we find ourselves having the same arguments over and over again.

Sometimes, it’s not just about what we disagree on but how we respond to each other. One person keeps asking while the other pulls away. One criticises while the other gets defensive. Before we know it, we’re stuck in the same cycle.

Noticing these patterns can be a good first step towards doing things a little differently.

Swipe through to spot some common patterns in family conflicts and explore simple ways to build better understanding with one another.

💬 Do any of these patterns feel familiar?

On 29 August 2026, we went on an outing to explore the beautiful Kampung Kampus – Home of Ground-Up Initiative (GUI) to celebrate the 7th Anniversary of Kampong Harvest (KH). Our KH Friends experienced what it is like to be a volunteer in GUI's weekly Balik Kampung sessions on Saturdays. From joining in the communal warm-up exercises and exploring the carpentry workshop, to hands-on planting, harvesting and composting, and learning about their food rescue operations, there was so much to see, learn and be inspired by that we can bring back into our own community.

The sustainability efforts at Kampung Kampus such as the collection and creative repurposing of recycled materials were particularly fulfilling to us. With our KH Friends also exploring initiatives around food waste, it was inspiring to see how simple, ground-up actions can make a meaningful difference in building a more sustainable community. 🌏

Thank you for welcoming Kampong Harvest and giving our KH Friends such a rewarding day of learning, connecting, growing and getting closer to nature. 💚

Here’s to 7 years of Kampong Harvest, and to many more years of growing together! 🌱

🌾 Kampong Friends’ Blessing: From the Community for the Community ❤️
Behind every food ration is a family doing their best to get by. A parent skipping meals so their children can eat. An elderly neighbour stretching every dollar to make ends meet.

Through Kampong Friends’ Blessing, we support less privileged families in the Serangoon community with essential food rations, bringing not just food to the table, but also hope, dignity, and the reassurance that they are not alone.
Today, we invite you to be part of that hope. Every donation can help ease a family's burden and remind them that their community cares.

💝 Together, let's keep the kampong spirit alive—one act of kindness, one family, one blessing at a time.

Stay posted for to see what Kampong Harvest will have in store for the Serangoon community~ If you would like to be part of us, please dm or contact us via our website to join as a volunteer!🙌

Kampong Kakis once wondered... what would a bumping space at block 157 look like?

With that, we held our first storytelling session (Small Stories, Big Heart!), all shaped by residents themselves. From tossing around ideas to planning and stepping up. We started with small chats, now turning into meaningful connections! This space has slowly become something we built together. 🙂
