Shh…. don’t disturb me , I’m on my holiday! 🤩🏖️

Fellow toastmasters used their creative thinking caps to dream big and create their ideal holiday at our march chapter meeting! 😎

From adventurous escapes to passion-fuelled retreats, every holiday said something special about its creator, but one type of holiday emerged as the most popular, a holiday were we do nothing. 😂

And the appeal of a “do nothing holiday” certainly makes sense!

Because speeches and table topics this month reminded us that holidays aren’t just about travel, they’re also about protecting our mental health, recharging our spirit 🧘🏻‍♀️, and coming back as our best selves!

Speeches by our fellow toastmasters during our January meeting perfectly encapsulates the symbolic meaning of the theme “Start Afresh: Reset,Reflect,Rise!”.

🔐RESET : A speaker shared about how he changed his inner dialogue to become more kind to himself.

🤔REFLECT : A helping hand during tough times filled a young boy with immense gratitude that led to a lifelong connection.

🚀RISE : How do you communicate from your heart? Our last speaker shared a crash course on the different communication styles!

Our evaluators also identified mistakes with eagle eyes 🦅 🧐and levelled up everyone by sharing best practices! 🤩

Among them is area Y1 director Uppli! Thank you to Uppli and other evaluators that contributed to our January meeting! 👍🏻

Our theme for the last meeting, “National Jukebox Day,” reminded us that music truly brings people together.

Originating from the “jook houses” or “jook joints” of the early 1900s, jukeboxes the center piece of a gathering point where people from all walks of life connected through melody and rhythm.

That same spirit of camaraderie was alive at SCTMC, reflecting the tight-knit community we’ve built as we journey together to master the art of public speaking!
