Many parents are doing their best while juggling stress, fatigue, and the everyday demands of life. In those moments, it’s easy for discipline to become reactive or inconsistent and that’s more common than we think.

This workshop is a space to pause and reflect.

Together, we’ll explore how discipline can be less about control and more about guidance: setting clear boundaries while still building trust, respect, and emotional security at home.

We’ll also talk about the small but meaningful ways we can stay present, attentive, and connected to our children.

In a technology-driven era, face-to-face conversations remain irreplaceable especially for dialogue on race and religion. Technology may support connection, but it cannot replicate the empathy and presence needed to listen across differences. Though the impact of such conversations is hard to measure, they matter because they shift perspectives: assumptions soften, understanding deepens, and people leave seeing others differently, quiet but essential steps toward compassion and acceptance.

📸 𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐇𝐮𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝
𝑾𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒆𝒇𝒕 𝒂𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔.

Around a hundred men came together last week to learn to be a good husband and with that, shared about the weight of unspoken expectations, and the challenges that some quietly carry.

Our facilitators did an amazing job in holding the space for the men to talk. The conversations weren't always easy and they weren't meant to be. But they were necessary.

What we heard that night - from our panellists, from each other - are stories of struggle, strength, and sincere effort. And that’s the heart of what we hope to build: a community where men can support one another, hold each other accountable, and walk together toward healthier, more compassionate relationships.

As we close, and as the men affirmed each other, we left them with a reminder: Change doesn't happen in grand gestures. It begins in small moments - in how we speak, how we listen, and how we choose to show love and respect, especially behind closed doors.

For most, it was an emotional and cathartic experience.

Together with our panelists; an Ustaz and a counsellor, and moderated by a lawyer, we’ll explore the true roles and responsibilities of husbands, dispel myths about discipline and financial obligations, and address the realities of being married.

We'll also touch on abuse which can happen to anyone, even men. Discover how to recognize it, support those affected, and find resources for healing.

This iftar gathering is designed to foster a welcoming and inclusive space where transgender Muslims can come together to break their fast in the spirit of Ramadan, embodying the Islamic values of unity, compassion, and mutual respect.

The objective is to nurture both spiritual growth and a sense of community belonging, emphasising that every individual is cherished as a creation of Allah.

Through a short sharing or tazkirah, personal reflections, and communal meals, participants are encouraged to engage in a dialogue about their life journeys and their connection to spirituality, God and Islam.
