Looking beyond today 💫
What will it take for accountants to continue creating real value for businesses and remain trusted by society ten years from now?
That was at the heart of Day 2 of our ISCA Strategy Retreat, where our Council, Management and Heads of Department came together to look beyond today's priorities.
We looked towards 2036 and challenged our assumptions about how AI, trust, sustainability, changing careers and an increasingly connected Asia could reshape the profession.
But this was not an exercise in predicting the future.
It was about preparing for it.
We worked backwards from 2036 to ask what ISCA must become by 2031 and what choices we need to start making from 2027.
The discussions reinforced something important for me. As the world changes, technical excellence will remain fundamental, but our profession must offer more. Our members must continue to exercise trusted judgement, embrace new capabilities and create meaningful value for businesses and society.
For ISCA, that means being prepared to evolve too.
The two days have given us greater clarity on where to double down, what we need to change and where we need greater discipline.
Now comes the most important part: turning those choices into action.
