What does it really mean to lead a BB Company? 🤔
12 Officers from 8 Companies came together today for the second session of the Advanced Officers Training Course — and they definitely had their minds put to work! 📚
The day started with a little test of memory (and perhaps a few “Wait… where was that in the By-laws again?” moments 🤔) as our Officers took on a quiz covering The Boys’ Brigade’s By-laws & Constitution.
From there, they got stuck into their Action Learning Projects, working through the LUMA Design Thinking process facilitated by our trainer, Mr Max Lam. It wasn’t just about coming up with ideas, but challenging our Officers to look at real situations, understand the needs around them, and think about how they can make a difference in their Companies.
Our Executive Director, Mr Desmond Koh, also challenged our Officers to think about Steward Leadership — what it means to lead with ownership, responsibility, accountability and reward, and how these principles can shape the way we serve and lead in a BB Company.
Because being an Officer isn’t simply about knowing the rules or running programmes. It’s about taking ownership, caring for our Boys, serving our teams, and being faithful with what has been entrusted to us.
One session down, more learning to go. 💪
