From First Speech to Standing Ovation. ๐ŸŒŸ

We are incredibly proud of our member, Pek Gan.

From an inexperienced speaker to standing on stage in front of thousands of financial advisors โ€” what a journey it has been.

People see the confidence. They don't see the multiple practicals during club activities. The countless hours spent rehearsing. The indomitable will to succeed.

That's the Toastmasters way โ€” growth happens behind the scenes, then shines on stage.

Congratulations, Pek Gan! You've shown us all what's possible when you refuse to give up. ๐Ÿ’›

Most salespeople leave money on the table. Not because the client was not interested. Because the consultant did not know how to pivot. Research by Bain & Company found that a 5% improvement in client retention increases profitability by 25% to 95% in financial services. The upsell โ€” moving a client from one commitment to a higher-value one within the same conversation โ€” is the single most direct mechanism for achieving that improvement. And most consultants never attempt it. Not because it is difficult. Because nobody taught them how.

Master the Upsell is a two-hour practical workshop designed for financial services consultants and sales professionals who are tired of closing the floor when the ceiling was always available.

๐—๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—–๐—น๐—ถ๐—ณ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—”๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜…๐—ถ๐˜€, ๐——๐—ง๐— , opens with the architecture of influence โ€” the sales psychology and mindset that must be in place before any technique is even relevant. Because a consultant who does not understand why a client buys will never consistently close at a higher level. They will occasionally get lucky. That is not a career.

๐—ก๐—ด ๐—ž๐—ถ๐—ป ๐—™๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ด, ๐——๐—ง๐— , Harvard-educated, two-time World Championship of Public Speaking finalist โ€” delivers the pivot: how to steer a live conversation toward a higher-value opportunity in real time, without disrupting the relationship or triggering resistance. This is the skill that separates the transactional consultant from the trusted adviser.

Daniel Tay , AIA TMCโฉ closes the programme with what most workshops spend the least time on and what the field demands the most: objection handling and closing without compromise. The close is not the end of the conversation. It is the test of everything that came before it.

Influence the conversation.
Make the pivot.

Real leaders donโ€™t just guide from the sidelinesโ€”they show the way! ๐ŸŒŸ

At the recent Club Officer Training organised by Division M, over 100 passionate club leaders gathered to learn, connect, and gear up for the new term. But what made this session extra special for us at AIA Toastmasters? Seeing two of our very own Club Advisors, Terence Kenneth John Nunis and Eric Tan step up to the stage as trainers! ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

Alongside an amazing lineup of speakers, our advisors dropped absolute goldmines of practical tips, fresh insights, and hard-earned wisdom. It wasn't just about leadership theory; it was about giving our officers the exact tools they need to thrive and serve their clubs even better this term. ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ“ˆ

We couldn't be prouder to have mentors who truly lead by example and continuously pour their time and energy back into the community. Thatโ€™s what our community is all aboutโ€”we rise by lifting others! ๐Ÿคโค๏ธ

A massive shoutout to our advisors and all the dedicated officers who spent their time learning and growing with us! Here's to an unstoppable term ahead! ๐Ÿš€
