🇸🇬 Celebrating Singapore 61 with the Spirit of Community

SSACCI was honoured to be represented by our Chairman, **Dr. Chinnu Palanivelu FCA**, and Vice Chairman, **Dr. Balakrishnan Ramanathan**, at the Singapore 61st National Day Observance Ceremony organised by the **Muslim Kidney Action Association (MKAC)** on 15 August 2026.

We were honoured by the presence of **Ms. Hazlina Abdul Halim, Member of Parliament for East Coast GRC**, as the Guest of Honour.

The meaningful celebration featured the National Anthem, National Pledge, presentations on MKAC’s community initiatives and the **MKAC Courage Award 2026**.

Since 1990, MKAC has been supporting chronically ill members of the community, including kidney and organ failure patients and their families. Its holistic support includes medical and financial assistance, counselling, education, skills development, befriending, family support and kidney health awareness.

Today, MKAC serves around **320 patients and 1,040 beneficiaries**, with its services open to people of all races and religions — a wonderful reflection of Singapore’s inclusive community spirit. 🤝

A special highlight was the presentation of the **MKAC Courage Award 2026 to Ms. Siti Aminah Binte Safari**, recognising her extraordinary compassion, strength and dedication as a caregiver.

Caregivers may often work quietly behind the scenes, but their patience, resilience and love make a profound difference to patients and families.

SSACCI sincerely thanks **Mr. Ameerali Abdeali, JP, Honorary President of MKAC**, for the invitation and leadership, and extends our appreciation to the MKAC team, volunteers, donors and supporters for their continued service.

SSACCI was pleased to be part of NRI Investment Fair 2026, held on 15–16 August at the Singapore Swimming Club, where we conducted a dedicated SSACCI members’ networking meet-up.

The event brought together investors, entrepreneurs, business leaders, property developers and professionals from Singapore, India and international markets.

SSACCI is pleased to recognise our Chairman, Dr. Chinnu Palanivelu FCA, on completing the **SBF-SID Leadership Programme for TAC Councils: Strategy Development and Sustainable Governance Programme** on 5 August 2026.

Building on his earlier participation in the programme in March 2025, the latest learning further strengthens perspectives on strategy, governance, leadership, compliance and creating greater value for members.

Celebrating SG61 Through Youth, Sport & Community 🇸🇬

SSACCI was delighted to be part of the **5th National Day Sports Fiesta 2026**, organised by the Singapore Indian Association (SGIA) on 2 August.

It was wonderful to see community leaders, families, sports enthusiasts and Members of Parliament come together to celebrate Singapore’s National Day spirit.

One of the key highlights was the launch of the **SGIA Youth Wing and its new logo** by Mr. Edwin Tong SC, Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs.

The Youth Wing is a meaningful initiative focused on supporting young people, especially those facing challenges at the mental and emotional level, by providing a safe and supportive space through community and sport.

As Singapore enters **SG61**, we are reminded that the next chapter of our nation’s journey is not only about economic progress. It is about building stronger communities, supporting our youth and ensuring that every generation feels included and empowered to contribute.

The football match between the legendary **1993 Singapore Dream Team** and the combined SGIA Management Committee & Parliament team was another memorable highlight, with the Dream Team winning 3–2. ⚽🇸🇬

SSACCI congratulates SGIA on a wonderful celebration and on the launch of its Youth Wing. We appreciate its continued efforts to bring communities together and create meaningful opportunities for our younger generation.
