Cooling morning walk through Berlayer Creek learning about mangroves, not feeding wildlife, and the old Keppel Golf Course which will soon house 7,000 HDB units and 3,000 private units. Then came the rocky shores around Bukit Chermin and the coastal forest of Labrador Nature Reserve where Boon Lay residents who once lived in the area shared their childhood experiences and learnt about the Orang Laut’s history in the area. The kids went home with shoes full of sand and their energy depleted! (1/2 of the group photographed in the photos)

Stepping into Cashin House this morning really felt like we were walking through history! From old stories of its origin and WWII landings on this very shore, to its restoration and ecological connectivity to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. Boon Lay residents watched Brahminy Kites circling above before spotting a Milky Stork cross the border by flying over the kelongs and into Malaysia!

East side best side… no la. But Boon Lay residents had a great time exploring Pasir Ris Park right after the morning rain, greeted by plenty of wildlife along the way!

From kids conquering their fear of heights, to lively chats about civet coffee ethics, blasting music in parks, and even crab farming in plastic shoeboxes. The peaceful morning walk turned into one filled with curious (and serious!) discussions.

And of course, our bus adventure across the island nearly became a cross-border trip. One more wrong turn and lunch would’ve been in JB. Maybe next time we should bring our passports, just in case!

7km from Windsor to the Treetop Walk and back in 4 hours! Boon Lay residents got a workout in while learning about plants, forest ecology, insects, invasive species, human-wildlife conflict, wildlife trade, but most importantly they gained a newfound appreciation for nature 💚 last 3 walks in the next 3 months for 2025 - Pasir Ris Park, Labrador Park, and the Rail Corridor!

Saturday morning nature walk from Telok Blangah Hill Park to Vivo City for makan and shopping with friends from Boon Lay! Our nature guide learnt a thing or two from the aspiring 8 year old zookeeper and community gardeners! We learnt so much about plants, history, culture, and what Singapore is doing for our City in Nature. In July we’re going to jalan MacRitchie Treetop Walk, open jio!
