Earlier this May, 50 residents gathered at Ping An Green RN for the pilot of the Community Mobile Kitchen Initiative, in partnership with Allspice Institute.

This ground-up initiative was born from a series of community ideation sessions led by Our Kampong Chai Chee Community Innovation Taskforce – a Sparks initiative launched by PA last year, to address food-related challenges and fostering sustainability within the division.

During the event, 4 volunteers from Allspice Institute generously contributed their culinary expertise to support a live cooking demo session alongside celebrity singer-actress Melissa Sidek. Residents learnt how to prepare nasi ulam and sambal kangkong using rescued vegetables, while picking up healthy cooking tips, heritage knowledge, and practical ways to reduce food waste.

One resident, Mdm Huang, shared: “The cooking demo is fun and engaging. I will be trying out the recipe at home to cook my own nasi ulam!”

Clarence, CEO of Allspice Institute, also shared: “Grateful to be part of a wonderful initiative and team!”

The event concluded with the distribution of rescued vegetables to participants, reinforcing the importance of sustainability, nutrition awareness, and community care.

Rolling Into Community Spirit at Changkat Day!

This year's Changkat Day celebrated the past, present, and future of Tampines Changkat CC. One highlight was the partnership with Singapore Floor Curling Federation; their interactive game booth brought residents together through sport!

This initiative was about fostering a sense of community and togetherness, perfectly aligned with our shared goal of strengthening bonds in the neighborhood. 👫🤝

Residents of all ages had the chance to experience this fun, inclusive sport firsthand. As Managing Director of Singapore Floor Curling Federation Sherry Chow puts it: "Floor curling is a truly inclusive sport where everyone can participate and enjoy together, regardless of age, ability, or physical condition."

The activity was a hit across generations. Resident Lawrence Chong, 75, shared that floor curling is "a safe indoor activity that improves coordination, balance, and teamwork, suitable for all ages and fitness levels."

What a meaningful Saturday for Nee Soon South residents at the “Jalan with Your Buddy - Corporate Adopter Edition”!

Returning for the second time as co-organiser, Micron Singapore once again went above and beyond, this time bringing along an incredible team of 30 volunteers to make the day possible. From a lively Bingo game centred on healthy eating, to accompanying residents on a sponsored grocery trip at the nearby supermarket, Micron's full volunteer support touched the lives of 51 families in a real and meaningful way.

A big thank you to Gupta International for sponsoring the grocery vouchers, making this initiative even more impactful. Together, these partnerships demonstrate how communities thrive when corporates come together with a shared purpose and commitment to giving back.

Bringing Eye Care to the Heartlands of Sembawang!

When Eye Mu spotted a gap in community eye health awareness, they partnered with Sembawang West to bring essential eye care right to residents' doorsteps at Sembawang West Zone B RN. 👁️✨

Beyond providing complimentary eye screenings, the session empowered residents, especially older residents, to manage conditions like glaucoma and cataracts. It also emphasised the importance of early detection, encouraging residents to take proactive steps in preserving their vision through timely intervention.

"The eye health talk and check helped me realise the importance of eye care. I learnt how to take better care of my eyes," shared Madam Saroj, a resident in her 70s.

Building on last year’s successful Corporate Adopter edition, UOB has once again partnered with PWC to bring the Jalan with Your Buddy programme to Serangoon residents!

This year, UOB specially curated the programme to go the extra mile to bring residents to not just one but two grocery shopping locations in Serangoon North and Serangoon Central, extending the programme’s outreach to more residents across the estate.

49 families first gathered at Serangoon CC to learn how to stay safe in the cyber space and picked up practical healthy eating tips before heading out. With the support of over 50 dedicated UOB volunteers, residents were accompanied on a sponsored shopping trip and engaged through warm conversations, strengthening bonds across the community.

🤝 You can be part of something bigger too! Partner with PA to make a difference in your community.

🤖✨ Bridging Generations Through AI Learning ✨🤖

Teck Ghee residents had the opportunity to step into the world of artificial intelligence (AI) through a 2-day AI Literacy Workshop last month, made possible through our partnership with AISingapore.

Led by two dedicated trainers, the workshop introduced residents to the rapidly evolving landscape of AI, transforming complex concepts into simple, practical knowledge that anyone could understand and apply. Using accessible platforms like Gemini and ChatGPT, residents learned how to apply AI tools in their daily lives regardless of their technical knowledge.

What made the workshop truly special was its diverse participation across generations.

At 67, Mdm Mok shared that the sessions helped her overcome her initial reservations about AI, empowering her with the confidence to use it meaningfully and responsibly. Meanwhile, 23-year-old Mr Wong has gained new knowledge and forged new friendships. He is excited to explore more advanced AI courses in the future.

Trainer Mr Vishal Singhwi shared that learning AI goes beyond technology. It is about bringing people together across generations, raising awareness of risks such as scams and deepfakes, and empowering individuals to use AI safely to shape their future.
