A weekend in Malacca, good food and even better company!✨

As part of our 55th Anniversary celebrations, 115 SOS members, spouses and staff came together for a 3D2N getaway filled with sightseeing, shopping, delicious food and plenty of laughter.

From exploring Malacca’s rich heritage and enjoying a Nyonya feast to ending the trip with a durian feast featuring the much-loved Mao Shan Wang, there was something for everyone. 😋

More than just a getaway, it was a chance for members to spend time together, reconnect with old friends and create new memories. What a fitting way to celebrate 55 years of solidarity and togetherness! ❤️

⚓Championing seafarers, one conversation at a time

We had the wonderful opportunity to participate as a partner exhibitor at the Voyage Beyond: Reimagining Maritime Singapore exhibition, organised by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore - MPA last Saturday, 27 June 2026. Representing SOS were Vice President Mohamad Bin Abu Bakar, Executive Secretary Chen Chuanyi, and IR Executive Moon Tan.

Through meaningful conversations with the public, our team shared insights into the vital role seafarers play in keeping global trade moving, the realities of life at sea, and the important work SOS does to protect their rights and advance their welfare.

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth, picked up a copy of our Samudra newsletter and SOS brochure, and took the time to speak with us! Every conversation helps build greater appreciation for the maritime community and the people who keep our world connected.

As SOS marks 55 years, this commemorative logo reflects the union’s journey, values and enduring commitment to putting Seafarers First.

Built around intertwining lines forming the number 55, the design symbolises unity, strength and the strong bonds between SOS, its members and partners. The colours — yellow, gold and copper — represent optimism, legacy, resilience and progress as SOS continues sailing forward together. ⚓

SOS spread festive cheer to seafarers calling at the Port of Singapore this Christmas season 🎄⚓

Led by SOS Vice President Mohamad Abu Bakar and IR Officers Alan Kor and Moon Tan, the ship visits brought gifts, warm conversations and support to crews spending the holidays away from home. Seafarers also received updates on SOS initiatives and assistance schemes, reaffirming the union’s commitment to their welfare and well-being at sea.

More than 130 SOS members gathered at Club@52 on Dec 20 for the IMDA Sharing & SOS Members’ Night, an evening filled with learning, laughter and festive cheer.

Members picked up useful digital healthcare skills through an engaging sharing by IMDA’s SG Digital Office Digital Ambassadors, before soaking in the festive spirit at a Winter Wonderland-themed celebration featuring lively entertainment, a sumptuous Christmas buffet and a Lucky Dip where everyone walked away with a prize.

The event wrapped up the year on a meaningful and memorable high for all.

We held a Mental Wellness Seminar for our members on Dec 4 in Chennai 🇮🇳✨.

It was a much‑needed session that equipped our seafarers with practical tools to manage stress, build healthy routines, and look out for one another on board and on shore. Most importantly, it helped us reset for the new year.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and shared openly. We’ll keep putting seafarers’ well‑being first.
