86th Company came together today, making sure every delivery reached our neighbourhood beneficiaries properly. Each Boy put in the effort carrying, checking, and taking the time to ensure everything was handed over with care.

On 11 October 2025, our Jurongville Secondary Boys’ Brigade had the opportunity to serve at West Grove Primary School’s Open House.

Together with our Officer, we supported the school’s internal activities and had a meaningful time working alongside the Junior Programme BB boys from West Grove Primary. We hope to have inspired them to continue on the BB Journey when they transit to their Secondary School !

It was a valuable experience to lead, serve, and build bonds across companies — staying true to our motto: Sure and Steadfast.

The Boys’ Brigade in Singapore organised an Anniversary Dinner which had all the Stakeholders & Officers of the Organisation, as well as Teachers, selected Primers and Senior Programme Boys, come together to commemorate 95 years of The Boys’ Brigade in Singapore.

In line with the event, the James Milner Fraser(J M Fraser) Awards were also being awarded to Companies. We are proud to achieve the highest level of High Distinction this year ! This award aims to recognise the Company’s efforts to be Future-ready and make an effective impact on their members, stakeholders and community.

ABOVE BEYOND AS ONE ! 86TH
We are blessed to have 2 more Primers; SCL Kim Long & SCL Yong Kang, attain the NYAA Gold Award. This programme consists of 4 components in volunteering, namely Service Learning, Outdoor Appreciation, Healthy Living & Community Leadership Initiative, compiling to at least 144 hours over 18 months.

As a bonus, the NYAA is an award recognised internationally ! Not just within the Boys’ Brigade Organisation !

!!! RE-POST !!!

For this year’s SG60, we had the privilege of our Jurongville Secondary (JVS) Boy’s Brigade (BB) Alumnus; SSG Leon Ma and SCL Chua Yong Kang in the National Day Parade & Ceremony segment!

SCL Chua represented the Boys’ Brigade as the Contingent Commander while SSG Ma represented the Singapore Army’s Headquarters Singapore Artillery (HQ SA) as part of the Colours Party, Colours Es**rt. They met up during the trainings to have some pictures taken!

SCL Chua was a JVS Student from 2018-2021, and there after he joined the Primers’ Programme under the 86th BB Company.

SSG Ma was a JVS Student from 2014-2017 and served as a Primer under the 86th Company before subsequently signing on to the Singapore Army as an Artillery Specialist.

These are some snippets of their time spent in training culminating to the 9th of August!

Being part of our school’s National Day Parade was a proud moment for all of us. As members of the uniformed groups, we trained hard to make sure every step and movement was sharp and in sync.

Marching out in front of our school community, we felt a strong sense of pride and unity. Though we came from different CCAs, we stood together to honour Singapore and celebrate as one.

The cheers from our friends and teachers made all our efforts worth it. It wasn’t just a performance, it was our way of showing love for our country and school.

We’re proud to have been part of something so meaningful.

Adventure Camp - 30th May to 1st June
“86th” embarked on the annual 3D2N Outdoor Expedition
Our members were physically & mentally challenged, through this outdoors-experience along with the Singapore-heat, we came out stronger !

Day 1 -
After Bag Inspection, a night under the stars at East Coast Park, don’t forget a bonding supper !

Day 2 -
We started the day on 2-wheels ! Cycling out of East Coast Park, Marina Bay and the Central Business District, and entering the Rail Corridor Park Connector Network.
In the late-afternoon, we went on the MRT towards Changi Village and set sail for Pulau Ubin, where we embraced the island's rustic charm and set up camp for the night.
Outdoor Cooking ! Cold Watermelon Mocktail !

Day 3 -
Started the day with a jog near the island’s jetty, visited the quarry and came back to the campsite for a filling breakfast. Thereafter, we had a round of Group Reflections on the Camp, and some Prizes for some outstanding Campers. Finally, we cleaned up and came back to Singapore Mainland!

Along with the Dedication Service we had on the 26th of April, 86th had a special segment of handover of Student Leadership from Year 4 to Year 3. This is also a turn of a new Chapter for the Company where we bring up the next Batch of Members to go through their Leadership Journey. Thank you for the service of the year 4 and all the best to the year 3 for stepping up and leading the company, above and beyond as one! 86!

On Saturday, 26th April 2025, we attended a Dedication Service at our sponsoring church, Faith Community Baptist Church (FCBC). Together with other Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Brigade Companies from the Junior (Primary), Senior (Secondary), and Primers (JC/Poly/ITE) section we reaffirmed our commitment to uphold the Object of The Boys’ Brigade. The day concluded on a joyful note as the Boys were treated to a delicious lunch of pizza and drinks!
