DCS “Lets Walk Together” 2026

On August 8, 2026, the eve of National Day, DCS organized its annual "Let’s Walk Together" event, aimed at promoting health, wellness, and community bonding among DCS’ meditation class alumni and their families. The event brought together roughly 200 participants, spanning generations—with the youngest participant being just two months old! —set off from DCS and enjoyed a scenic walk along the Punggol PCN before returning to DCS.

We were also honored by a surprise visit from Ms. Sun Xueling, Senior Minister of State for Transport and National Development, and MP for Punggol West SMC. During her routine walkabout, Ms Sun stopped by DCS to tour our game booths, and share in the lively atmosphere with our participants.

The event concluded on a joyful note, with everyone coming together to enjoy a buffet lunch, interactive games, and great company.

DCS“携手同行”2026 🚶‍♀️✨

2026年8月8日国庆前夕，DCS一年一度的“携手同行”活动温馨登场！

这次活动旨在鼓励健康生活，同时也为DCS的静坐班校友们们和他们的家属提供了一个温馨融洽的互动平台。现场吸引了约200位朋友们热情参与，其中最小的宝宝才刚满两个月呢！大家从DCS出发，沿着榜鹅公园连道（Punggol PCN）共享一段风景宜人的徒步旅程后返回DCS。

让大家格外惊喜的是，交通部兼国家发展部高级政务部长兼榜鹅西单选区国会议员孙雪玲女士在社区走访途中也特别抽空来到DCS，不仅参观了各个游戏摊位，还与大家一起融入这片欢快的节日气氛中。

活动的最后，参与者们一同享用丰盛的自助午餐，并参与了趣味十足的游戏环节，整场活动在欢声笑语中圆满落幕！

【大迴向功德仪式】
一年一度的中元节即将到来。每逢这个时节，华人家庭通常会祭祀祖先，缅怀先人。

在佛法教义里，最能利益祖先和往生的亲友，以“慎终追远”表达孝意，莫过于将所修的功德为亡者做迴向。

来临的8月23日星期天下午2.15 pm, 新加坡法身寺将举办年度【大迴向功德仪式】。 僧团将恭请佛陀为往生兜率天的佛母所开示的阿毗达摩经，在仪式中背诵。在僧团诵经带领下，我们让心静定下来，而将功德迴向给往生者，祭奠过世的亲人。

Zhong Yuan Jie, which takes place on the seventh month of the Lunar calendar, is a time of the year when we pay respect and show gratitude to our ancestors and departed loved ones. According to Buddhist teachings, the greatest gift one can give one’s departed loved ones and ancestors is to perform acts of merit and dedicate these merits to them.

On 23rd August, Sunday, 2.15pm, DCS will be holding our annual Transference of Merit Ceremony. During the Ceremony, our Sangha will be chanting the Abdhidhamma Scripture, the same Scripture that the Buddha delivered to his deceased mother and other heavenly beings in the second level of Heaven, Tavatimsa.

Led by the Sangha, while listening to the chanting, we will calm our mind and transfer merits to our ancestors and departed loved ones.

Today, July 30th, marks the start of the Rains Retreat, which lasts for three months. The 3-month Rains Retreat is not only for the Sangha to remain in one place to intensify their Dhamma and meditation practice, it is also important for lay followers to make good use of this period to enhance their practice of giving, observing precepts, and meditation.
