IJAS Iaido & Jodo Embu
A special Embu demonstration during our IJAS event!

Russell Lawrence Sensei performed Tamiya Shinken Ryu Iaijutsu, followed by a demonstration of ZNKR Iaido, giving everyone a great opportunity to see the different techniques and styles in action.

For ZNKR Jodo, Peter Woolmer Sensei and Vincent Sia Sensei performed a Jodo demonstration together, showcasing the interaction between sword and Jo.

A great experience for everyone watching and a special way to share the spirit and beauty of Iaido and Jodo. 🙏

Thank you to our Sensei for sharing their knowledge and experience with everyone!

IJAS Singapore Seminar 2026 – Day 3 Completed!

Day 3 done! After three intensive days of Iaido and Jodo training, everyone is definitely feeling the tired legs and sore muscles! 😅

But an exhausted body doesn’t stop the eagerness to learn. The energy in the dojo was still strong, with everyone staying focused, asking questions, practising again and again, and trying to pick up every little detail from the Sensei.

It’s great to see everyone pushing through the tiredness, helping each other and still enjoying the training together. Good training, good atmosphere and lots of learning!

The body may be tired, but the spirit is still strong! 💪

After a full day of training, it’s time to relax and enjoy some local Singapore food at Newton Food Centre! 😋

IJAS Singapore Seminar – Day 2

What a fantastic Day 2!

We trained from 9am to 5pm, and although everyone was pretty tired by the end of the day, the smiles said it all. It was a full day of learning, practising, asking questions, and enjoying every minute on the dojo floor.

A big welcome to Russell Sensei his two sons, Tim and Ryan, who joined the seminar and trained alongside everyone. It was great having them here and seeing the family sharing their passion for budo together.

There were plenty of small details to work on, lots of "aha!" moments, and everyone was helping each other improve. That's one of the best parts of these seminars—you learn from the Sensei, but you also learn from everyone around you.

Looking forward to another great day tomorrow. See you all at the dojo!

🍲 An Evening of Singapore Flavours 🇸🇬

After a rewarding first day of training, it was time to treat our overseas guests to some of Singapore’s local favourites.

Tonight, we enjoyed a traditional dinner of Bak K*t Teh (肉骨茶), followed by the unique herbal dessert Gui Ling Gao (龜苓膏).

Thank you for making Day 1 both productive on the dojo floor and memorable around the dinner table. Here’s to another great day of training tomorrow!

IJAS Singapore Seminar 2026 – Jodo | Day 1

Day 1 of the IJAS Singapore Seminar featured ZNKR Jodo training conducted by Peter Woolmer Sensei.

Participants had the opportunity to learn from his extensive experience and detailed instruction, focusing on refining technique, correct fundamentals, and the spirit of ZNKR Jodo.

A sincere thank you to Peter Woolmer Sensei for travelling to Singapore and generously sharing his knowledge and passion with everyone. Your dedication to supporting the development of Jodo is greatly appreciated.

We look forward to another inspiring day of training tomorrow!
