: Celebrating Second Chances and Driving Meaningful Transformation

Singapore Logistics Association (SLA) was recently recognised at the prestigious Yellow Ribbon Appreciation & Awards Ceremony 2026. Themed “Championing Second Chances, Empowering Transformation”, the event celebrated partners and individuals dedicated to creating inclusive workplaces and providing meaningful career pathways for ex-offenders.

SLA Council Member, Mr Gerry Tan, received the award from the Guest of Honour, Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs. This recognition highlights ’ vital role in driving social impact and fostering a more supportive and inclusive workforce in Singapore.

The Singapore Logistics Association, in collaboration with CuberAI, warmly invites freight forwarders, logistics professionals, and industry stakeholders across ASEAN to join us for an upcoming industry session exploring the next evolution of AI-driven logistics operations on 25 June 2026.

This session will showcase how emerging technologies such as Agentic AI, Digital Employees, and Intelligent Document Processing are transforming freight forwarding operations across ocean and air freight. The Singapore Logistics Association (SLA) Secretariat team visited FedEx on 12 June 2026 at their facility located at the Airport Logistics Park of Singapore for an exclusive tour of their operations.

Hosted by Mr Eric Tan, Managing Director, and Mr Derrick Teng, Senior Manager, the visit gave the team a closer look at how FedEx manages its day-to-day operations and supports international logistics and supply chain movements across global markets.

The tour also provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on developments within the logistics sector, operational challenges faced by companies, and the ongoing changes shaping the future of supply chain operations.

Visits like these provide valuable opportunities for learning and industry exchange, allowing us to better understand how companies across the sector continue to adapt and innovate in an increasingly dynamic operating environment. We appreciated the opportunity to engage with the FedEx team and learn from their experiences and insights.

On 11 June 2026, the Singapore Logistics Association (SLA) Secretariat team had the opportunity to trial the autonomous taxi shuttle at North Shore Punggol, courtesy of our industry partner, ComfortDelGro (CDG). Partnered with Pony.ai, CDG Zig’s hybrid robotaxi fleet will ply strategic routes within Punggol Digital District, connecting residential areas, transit hubs and key amenities.

The visit gave the team first-hand experience of how autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence-driven routing and digital platforms can support safer, more efficient and sustainable transport operations. These technologies also have wider applications in the logistics sector, including fleet optimisation and last-mile delivery.

We thank Mr Goh Kok Wee, Vice President and Head of School Bus Businesses, and Mr Kah Meng Sim, Head of Technology at CDG Bus, for arranging the smooth and insightful trial rides.

The visit builds on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between ComfortDelGro and SLA in 2025 to explore the use of autonomous vehicle technology in supporting sustainability and operational efficiency.

SLA looks forward to working with industry partners to support the adoption of autonomous technologies and strengthen Singapore’s transport and logistics ecosystem.

Breaking Bottlenecks Series: The Operations Playbook for Businesses Ready to Grow 🚀🤖

On 22 May 2026, the Singapore Logistics Association (SLA) hosted an impactful session on technology and talent transformation within the logistics sector. Supported by Novomind APAC and Workforce Singapore (WSG), the event explored how businesses can leverage innovation and develop future-ready talent to meet the evolving demands of the industry. 💡

Ms Mary Ann Bey, Deputy Director at SLA, opened the session and spoke on SLA’s commitment to digitalisation as a key pillar of SLA’s Vision 2027. Beyond technology adoption, SLA seeks to support logistics businesses in upskilling their talent and adapting to AI-driven roles.

This was followed by a presentation by Mr David Lin, Manager of WSG, which provided an overview of the Career Conversion Programme (CCP) and the various support schemes available to logistics companies. Participants gained valuable insights into how CCP can help businesses reskill existing employees and onboard new talent into emerging roles through structured training and salary support.

Building on the workforce transformation theme, Ms Jessie Hong, Managing Director of Novomind APAC, then shared practical applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within logistics operations. Through real-world examples and used cases, participants learned how AI-powered solutions, including intelligent operational assistants and automated support tools, can streamline workflows, improve customer responsiveness, enhance operational visibility, and drive productivity gains.🤖⚙️

SLA extends its appreciation to WSG and Novomind APAC for their valuable partnership and contributions, as well as to all attendees for their participation and engagement.
