During the FSV at Blk 522 Serangoon North Ave 4 on 20 September, several residents were aware of the rubbish chute fire and expressed appreciation for C2E’s visit and the sharing of fire prevention tips. The engagement helped to reinforce fire safety awareness among the residents.
The team also observed a lot of flammable items stored in the risers and no min clear passage way at common corridors

Fire Safety Visit at Blk 968 Hougang Ave 9 on 6 Sept. There was a case of CRC fire in this block.

During the visit, the team observed a significant amount of personal belongings had been stored within the riser, which is not permitted due to fire safety concerns and the need to keep riser areas clear.

One resident was also found to have stored empty carton boxes inside the riser. As carton boxes are combustible and can contribute to the rapid spread of fire, this was identified as a significant fire hazard.

The team immediately engaged the resident and instructed them to remove and dispose of the empty carton boxes. The resident was also advised to refrain from storing any personal belongings or combustible materials within the riser to ensure compliance with fire safety requirements.

FSV at Blk 506, SN Ave 4 after attending the National Day Observance Ceremony.
1) Found many cases of corridor obstructions
2) Placement of personal belongings in the Dry Rising Main, Gas & Water and Electrical & Tel. Risers.
Most of the risers are full with personal belongings which should be removed immediately for safety concerns.
3) Also found cigarette butts which were not properly extinguished lying outside the unit. We can still see glowing ember and smoke. Members immediately asked the owner to clear away the used cigarette butts and reminded him that smoking is not allowed at corridors and ci******es butts has to be completely extinguished to prevent fires.
Reported in One Service Apps for Town council to follow up on the case and take the necessary actions.
