Our Fire Safety Awareness Day on Saturday, 23 May 2026 was a roaring success! Residents turned up in full force and action-packed morning of life-saving knowledge and hands-on learning.

From the Fire Evacuation Exercise and Fire Extinguisher Hands-on Experience to the interactive booths by SCDF, SPF, NEA & C2E, and completing the stamp trail for goodies — everyone left feeling more prepared and confident!

[Operationalisation and Islandwide Testing of SG Alert on 10 May]

In April 2026, SCDF announced the implementation of SG Alert, a mass emergency alert system that broadcasts time-sensitive emergency alerts to all mobile devices islandwide or within specific geographical zones. This system will be rolled out in phases, beginning with public testing for Singtel network users.

At 𝟭𝟮𝗽𝗺 on 𝟭𝟬 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, SCDF will conduct island-wide testing of SG Alert for Singtel users. Mobile phones will need to be updated with the latest Apple or Google Android operating system (iOS 26.4 or OS 12, with the latest Google Play system update) to receive the alert. No internet connection, application download or account registration is required.

Users will receive a pop-up notification with the header ‘SG Alert’, accompanied by an alert tone and a vibration pattern. The alert will also bypass the phone’s “Do Not Disturb” or silent mode settings.

🔥 Fire Safety Blitz at Blk 295B Compassvale Crescent

Sengkang North C2E team together with officers from SCDF conducted a Fire Safety Blitz at Blk 295B Compassvale Crescent to engage residents and raise awareness on fire prevention and home safety.

During the visit, we went door-to-door to share useful fire safety tips, such as checking electrical appliances regularly, avoiding overloading power sockets, and keeping flammable items away from heat sources. Residents were also reminded of the importance of having working smoke alarms and knowing what to do in the event of a fire.

These engagements are important in helping our community stay alert, prepared, and resilient. By looking out for one another and practising simple fire safety habits at home, we can help prevent accidents and keep our families safe.

A big thank you to our SCDF officers and volunteers from the Sengkang North C2E team for taking the time to connect with residents and strengthen fire safety awareness in our neighbourhood.

🚑 Building a Safer Sengkang, Together

The CERT Connect – Responder Plus Programme, conducted by SCDF, was successfully completed at Sengkang CC on 10 January 2026.

Volunteers were trained in critical life-saving response skills and practical fire-fighting techniques, enhancing our community’s readiness for emergencies.

Sengkang North C2E successfully completed our FY2025 Command Post Exercise, part of the 3-year Operational Readiness Cycle (ORC) for FY2023–2025.

Our CCOC team and GRLs gathered at Sengkang CC Level 3 Seminar Room for a series of emergency simulation scenarios — each designed to sharpen our responses, test coordination, and ensure we can act swiftly when it matters most.

This exercise is a key component of the training cycle is to help Constituency Crisis Operations Centres (CCOCs) build strong competencies in managing crises, disseminating critical information, and supporting our Constituency Crisis Management Group (CCMG).

🩺 ❤️ Learning to save lives, one beat at a time!
Our residents and participants at Sengkang CC spent their Sunday morning gaining hands-on experience in CPR, bandaging, immobilisation & AED use — vital skills that can make a difference in emergencies.

From adults to youths, everyone took turns practising, learning and supporting one another through this Emergency Preparedness Mass First Aid – AED Course. 👏
