We work alongside low-income communities to increase their access to improved living conditions. Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Anchored by the belief that safe and affordable housing provides a path out of poverty, we have been working alongside families and individuals of limited means, from all over Singapore and Asia-Pacific, to increase access to improved homes since 2004. For Mdm C, the 50 umbrellas she saved for “rainy days” slowly became part of a home so cluttered that she could no longer live in it. ⛱

After more than a year sleeping outside, she finally decided to take the first step. Together with our Habitat community, we began taking the first steps toward clearing her home - only 5 umbrellas kept!

Mdm C will move back home by Christmas this year. 🤶

This year, Habitat for Humanity celebrates our 50th anniversary. 🎉

As we commemorate this milestone, we look back at the mission that started it all, and the courageous first step of our founders who gave everything up to built houses for others.

Habitat Singapore is sending our volunteers to Nepal and here’s why!

Nepal faces a major housing challenge:
🏘 47% of people live in substandard housing
🌎The country is highly disaster-prone

Enter bamboo! Habitat for Humanity Nepal faced a major win pushing a national bamboo guideline policy forward, with Singapore sending resource support.

📢 Regional collaboration is essential to addressing one of Southeast Asia’s most pressing challenges: access to safe, decent and affordable housing.

Last week, our National Director, Daniel, joined 11 National Directors and Board Chairs from across the Asia-Pacific region in Batam for a strategic workshop and build hosted by Habitat for Humanity Indonesia. Together, leaders shared programme learnings, explored partnership opportunities, and aligned on how we can strengthen our collective impact across the region.

These conversations were followed by a hands-on build, where 35 leaders helped construct three climate-adaptive homes and refreshed a community facility in Sei Beduk District, part of Habitat Indonesia’s broader initiative to build 71 homes for families in need.

For Habitat for Humanity Singapore, this partnership reflects more than two decades of collaboration with Habitat Indonesia. Since 2004, we have supported 3,618 housing and water-related solutions, demonstrating how cross-border partnerships can drive meaningful, lasting change.

🥳When we come together to share knowledge, align strategies and take action, we can create stronger, more resilient communities across the region.

We are pleased to announce that Daniel See has joined Habitat for Humanity Singapore as our new National Director! Having served as both our volunteer and Board Chair, he brings strategic perspective, and leadership experience that will strengthen our mission and impact.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our outgoing National Director, Francis Foo, for his contributions and dedications over the last 2 years, which have made a meaningful difference to the beneficiaries we serve, our partners and team.

Daniel has built a distinguished career over three decades spanning legal practice and senior leadership roles with several multinational companies, serving as Director and General Counsel for the Asia Pacific region.

With Daniel at the helm, we look forward to an exciting new chapter as we continue to put God's love into action - bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Sometimes, the biggest transformation happens in the volunteers themselves! 🫶

Students from Singapore American School recently joined us for Project HomeWorks, rolling up their sleeves to clean, declutter and refresh homes alongside homeowners.

Beyond the visible before-and-afters, they connected with the homeowners, gained new perspectives and saw how even a few hours can build a fresh start.

Nearly half of the homes we serve face bed bug infestations, impacting not just health, but mental wellbeing too.🚶

Many of these individuals have limited financial means, social support, and mobility, making it difficult for them to maintain safe and sanitary living conditions.

💛 $1,800 can transform a home and bring safety, dignity and security.

What makes the best win? When you SCOR! 🥳

A big shoutout to SCOR for supporting our UnLitter Red Dot programme since 2024 and creating impactful environmental wins at the recent East Coast Park beach clean-up. Their commitment to the cause truly stood out - even in the final minutes, running back to pick up leftovers.

🌎An impressive 113.99 kg was collected by the entire team:
• The heaviest bag weighed in at 11.32kg (we struggled to lift it!)
• One team topped the charts with 25.18kg collected

Thank you, SCOR, for helping make Singapore cleaner, greener, and better for all.
