Congratulations to Po Chiak Keng, Tan Si Chong Su on 150 years of serving our community!

We're deeply grateful that the temple chose to mark this milestone with a generous gift to Catholic Welfare Services. It reminds us that caring for our neighbours is something we share, across faiths and across generations.

Their support helps us journey alongside seniors in our nursing homes, families and children going through difficult seasons, rough sleepers we meet through our Night Mission, and adults with intellectual disabilities building skills and confidence at Hearts@Work.

Thank you, Po Chiak Keng, for your friendship and generosity. Here's to the next 150 years, together.

Opening ASEAN U.N.I.T.E 2026 with Hearts@Work!

Our Hearts@Work trainees and Mangrove Learning volunteers had the wonderful opportunity to kick off the Public Hygiene Council (PHC)’s ASEAN U.N.I.T.E 2026 with a special opening performance at Punggol Digital Village District on Sunday, 23 August!

Beyond welcoming ASEAN Ambassadors and representatives to the event, the performance was a meaningful opportunity for our trainees and volunteers to showcase their talent, passion, and positive contributions to our community. 💙
We hope that moments like these will continue to encourage our trainees and their families that with the right opportunities and support, everyone has something valuable to share.

We were also grateful for the token of appreciation from Guest of Honour: Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, Ms Goh Hanyan; PHC Chairman Mr Andrew Khng; and PHC Executive Director Dr Christina Liew – received on behalf of CWS by Head of Hearts@Work, Mr Andrew Ong.

A big thank you to PHC for giving our Hearts@Work trainees and volunteers the opportunity to be part of this special occasion where communities came together to celebrate diversity, forge meaningful connections, and reaffirm our shared responsibility to Keep Singapore Clean.✨

Our Hearts@Work trainees, staff, and drum instructors had the wonderful opportunity to perform at the opening ceremony of Wise Oaks International School on 16 August 2026, welcoming the South African High Commissioner to Singapore and many guests with a special drum roll! Wise oaks celebrated this day as scintillating Harmony Festival living Singapore's values of Racial Harmony and Inclusivity. A heartfelt thank you to our five amazing trainees for their courage and enthusiasm in putting up such a meaningful performance!

On the 15th of August 2026, our CWS volunteers participated in the SCDF Responders Plus Programme. The programme equipped them with skills required in the event of emergencies, including first aid and fire-fighting.

To our volunteers, we hope that you will boldly step forward to be our CWS First Responders, to step up in case of any emergenices during our events. It takes a village to raise a child, to care for a senior and to save a life in times of crisis. We can do it together as a big family.
