A small gesture, shared with heart.

Last December 6, Espesyal Pinoy had the opportunity to visit three children's wards at KK Women's and Children's Hospital to share a few Christmas songs. Together with our young adults on the spectrum, we hoped to bring a little cheer, comfort, and warmth during the festive season.

Grateful to KK Women's and Children's Hospital for allowing us to do this meaningful outreach. We carry this experience with gratitude and hope to make it a yearly tradition of giving back to the community.

A beautiful way to wrap up the year.

Our Espesyal Pinoy Year End Christmas Party last November 29 was filled with warmth, laughter, and meaningful moments shared as one community. From familiar faces to new friends, it was an evening of connection, gratitude, and celebration of how far we have come together this year.

This video captures the joy, love, and togetherness that make EP what it is. Thank you to everyone who joined us, helped out, and made time to celebrate despite busy schedules. Wishing everyone a season filled with hope, peace, and shared moments like these.

Our theme "Bayanihan in the Lion City" celebrates Singapore's 60th year through the shared values of inclusion, unity, and community. These are values cherished by both Singaporean and Filipino hearts.

Our main prop is a Kampung house or "bahay kubo" (nipa hut), symbolising togetherness and mutual help. The poles holding the house symbolize "Bayanihan", the core Filipino tradition where a community collectively lifts and moves a house. This act represents how collective effort is essential to building a truly inclusive society.

The walls and decorations feature our children’s original artworks of Singapore's iconic symbols and landmarks including the Merlion, orchids, otters, koi fish, and other familiar sights. Each piece is the child's voice in celebrating inclusivity, belonging, and love for our second home, Singapore.

Alongside these vibrant drawings, we feature powerful messages of inclusion on our boards:
* "Abilities Outweigh Disabilities" - our core belief that an individual’s strengths are always more important than their limitations.
* "This High Five is for all the brothers and sisters who support their siblings with special needs. You all rock!" - shining a light on the often unseen love and support within families.

These heartfelt messages from our community speak directly to the hope of a future Singapore where inclusion is not just a policy but a lived, everyday reality.

True to the spirit of sustainability, our props are made from upcycled hospital supply boxes, toilet and kitchen paper rolls, scraps from previous events, old newspapers, chopsticks, and reused kids' artworks. By repurposing these everyday materials, we highlight that beauty, meaning, and impact can emerge from what others may discard. Our float is a community creation, built not by professionals, but by families, volunteers, and children with different abilities.

Purple remains our main colour, representing inclusion, while the floral and butterfly elements connect to Singapore's identity as a modern urban city that still blooms with rich greenery and life. The vibrant touches from children's art symbolize creativity, individuality, and hope. The combined imagery of the Kampung house (bahay kubo) and Bayanihan pole reflect the unified strength of both Filipino and Singaporean community spirit.
