District Grand Lodge of the Eastern Archipelago

District Grand Lodge of the Eastern Archipelago Freemasonry is a mutual self-help society, with a powerful philosophy, assisting members to learn abo To be a Freemason you must meet certain requirements.

It has a longstanding commitment to civic responsibility and charitable works and endeavors to make members better citizens and having spread across the globe has attracted many prominent, creative and successful people from all walks of society. It teaches morality and encourages the practice of three great principles:
Love for your fellow humans. Charity towards the less fortunate; and the sear

ch for the
Truth about yourself. First and foremost, you must believe in God (Supreme Being). Freemasonry is not a religion. It is a philosophy that brings together people who think that there is a meaning to life and allows them an avenue to discuss what they belief with fellow members. It forbids the discussion of topics that can cause argument, like religion and politics. The real secrets of Freemasonry are in the understandings and insights gained in the teachings, through morality plays, in the ritual books.

-how to overcome your fears.
-how to develop your mind and intellect.
-how to come to terms with your mortality. The benefits gained from these teachings are numerous, for Freemasonry also teaches you to memorise facts and information; to understand the meanings of symbols; to care about others; and to speak confidently in public. It is a society which progressively develops you as a person and builds your circle of life long friends.

On the first day of Christmas, Solomon gave to me... an Entered Apprentice apron!✨

This simple garment, the first step on our journey, symbolises the innocence and purity of intention with which we begin our journey into Freemasonry. It's a reminder to approach our education with an open mind and a humble heart, just as a new initiate enters the Lodge room for the very first time.

And just like the festive season, it's a time of new beginnings and renewed hope. So, let's raise a glass to those taking their first steps into the mysteries of Freemasonry! 🥂

The Fund is set up as a Singapore Trust and is registered as a charity with the Commissioner of Charities, Singapore.

The Patron of the Fund is The District Grand Master of the Eastern Archipelago.

Even after Singapore government subsidies, there are parents that struggle to pay for fees and other expenses of educating their children, particularly in respect of higher education. The result is that a number of children drop out of the education system early and never achieve their maximum potential. Some will obtain lower grade jobs others may end up unemployed and in some cases as problem members of society.

The Fund will work with educational establishments to identify those students that are needy and are unable to find funds from other sources.

We will also work with registered charities, particularly those that help disadvantaged children and young people to overcome the barriers they face to achieving the best possible start in life.

Finally, we will consider individual applications via Masonic referrals of educational financial assistance for needy students.

Have you anything to give in the cause of Charity?

While we, Freemasons, are known for our charitable giving, the Rite of Destitution delves deeper, to show us that true generosity goes beyond monetary charity.💰

It is about offering a shoulder to lean on, a listening ear, and unwavering support to those in need, even if their wallets are full.
