As we approach this joyous time of year, it's a season of giving, sharing, and caring. At The Community Justice Centre, we have been dedicated to providing vital social and legal support to those in our community who need it most. This festive season, we're reaching out to you for your generous support to continue this vital work.

On 22nd September 2023, the Community Justice Centre (CJC)’s annual Community Justice Cup Charity Golf was held at the Sentosa Golf Club. It was a pleasant day with beautiful weather as the golfers mingled with each other over a sumptuous lunch, followed by group photo taking and a great game and catch-up at the golf course. All participants enjoyed themselves immensely.

In the evening, we were honoured to have President Tharman Shanmugaratnam grace the gala dinner as our Guest-Of-Honour. President Tharman was embraced with a warm round of applause, cheers and numerous requests for selfies and wefies from guests. The CJC introduced its latest initiative for self-represented persons i.e. the Co-Parenting Application, which will be Asia’s first such application. Dr. Leonard Lee (Chief Executive Officer, CJC) also provided a summary of CJC’s programmes and activities.

The CJC also took the occasion to appreciate our donors, long-serving staff and volunteers who have contributed generously to its fundraising calls, as well as its beneficiaries. President Tharman was delighted to present token of appreciation to these award recipients and encouraged them to continue their efforts. The event capped off with the President receiving a traditional Chinese calligraphy scroll from Mr. Mah who is a local calligraphist and also CJC’s volunteer since its inception. After the President took his leave, Justice Hoong (Chairman of the CJC and Presiding Judge, State Courts) and Mr. Ong Yu-En (CJC Fundraising Committee Chairman) took turns to give out the second and third wave of awards and gifts to our remaining recipients.

The CJC would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supports CJC with their generous donations and purchases of golf flights, as these donations will go a long way for the CJC to provide meaningful programmes and services for needy court users and the public to access to useful socio-legal information and services. Your support is more than just a financial contribution; it’s a beacon of hope for those who need it most and very often in their darkest hour. We assure all that the donations will be utilised thoughtfully and responsibly to maximise its impact to deserving beneficiaries. This means that we are committed to use every dollar to make a meaningful difference and uplift the lives of those in need.
