From 1 June 2026, users of mobility scooters will need a Certificate of Medical Need to continue using their devices on public paths.



Mobility scooters who are not exempted should visit their regular doctor, occupational therapist, or GP to undergo the Assessment of Mobility Scooter (AMS) to obtain the certificate before 1 June.
