We were honoured to have our CEO, Timothy Liu, invited as one of the panellists at Asia Tech x Singapore – ATxEnterprise segment, “Digital Inclusion in Aging Societies: Bridging the HealthTech Gap.”
Discussions focused on overcoming barriers to technology adoption among older adults, designing accessible interfaces, training caregivers, as well as ensuring inclusive and accessible healthcare services.
Timothy proposed a 6 domain framework that asked pertinent questions usually missed by developers and adopters to overcome level of acceptability and adoption by seniors relating to accessibility, meaningfulness, emotional readiness, relational support, workflow integration and equity & inclusion. He also shared that different areas of healthcare such as clinical care, personal care, operations and patient / resident engagements have different focus when considering applications of technology within the healthcare setting.
At SAS, we recognise that digital transformation in healthcare must go hand in hand with compassion, accessibility, and dignity. As we continue to care for our residents, many of whom are elderly and vulnerable, conversations like these are important in shaping a future where technology supports better care outcomes without widening the gap for those who need support the most.
