🌟 TLCS Bilingual Toastmasters Club - September Chapter Meeting🌟

Our September Chapter Meeting was held with the meaningful theme “Roots That Speak” and the Word of the Day “Bountiful”. 🌱

The meeting reminded us that our roots family, language, culture, mentors, and life experiences shape who we are and how we grow as communicators and leaders.

🎤 Table Topics
The session brought out interesting personal stories connected to culture, family, childhood memories, career journeys and adapting to new environments while remaining connected to our roots.

🎙️ Prepared Speeches
We were treated to seven engaging speeches:

TM Vinoth - Facts vs Stories
TM Balaji - Just Two Minutes
TM Chai Tun - Tender Interview for the Appointment of Project Manager
TM Thiru. - My Grassroots Volunteering Journey

Each speaker brought a different experience and perspective, covering luck, travel, human connections, communication styles, procrastination, project management and community service.

📝 Evaluation Session
Our evaluators provided constructive feedback on storytelling, vocal variety, body language, facial expressions, stage usage, audience engagement and effective time management.

🌱 General Evaluator’s Reflection
TM Terry appreciated TLCS for its strong foundation, teamwork, hybrid meeting format and members taking on multiple roles.
Using the example of bamboo roots, he reminded us that strong and visible growth begins with a strong foundation.
He also encouraged TLCS to make greater use of our bilingual and cultural identity and to connect with Toastmasters from different clubs and communities.

🌟 TLCS Bilingual Toastmasters Club – August 2nd Chapter Meeting | Zoom 🌟

Our second August Chapter Meeting was successfully held via Zoom, bringing members together for another wonderful session of learning, storytelling, evaluation, and personal growth.

🎤 Prepared Speeches
We were treated to five engaging prepared speeches, each carrying a unique message and personal experience:
• TM Harish – "My Journey, My Plan" – Icebreaker Speech
• TM Vinoth Kumar – "The Day I Realized I Was on Autopilot"
• TM Balaji – "The Account That Money Cannot Settle"
• TM Thiru – "Embrace the Changes"
• TM Suriya – "சந்திப்பு"

👏 Congratulations to TM Harish on successfully completing his Icebreaker Speech! A great first step in his Toastmasters prepared-speaking journey. His message reminded us that exploring different possibilities is never wasted — once we discover our true niche, we should give it our 100%.

Each speaker brought a different story and perspective — from finding one's passion and breaking away from routine, to kindness, gratitude, career transformation and overcoming personal challenges.

📝 Evaluation Session
Our evaluators provided valuable and constructive feedback to the speakers, appreciating their storytelling, confidence, audience connection, meaningful messages and personal experiences.

They also shared useful recommendations on speech structure, timing, pacing, vocal variety, body language, audience engagement and stronger openings and conclusions, helping our speakers identify clear areas for their next level of improvement.

This once again demonstrated the true value of Toastmasters — Speak. Receive feedback. Apply. Improve. Repeat.

💐 We were also delighted to have TM Rajamohan join our Zoom meeting. He shared encouraging and valuable feedback about the overall quality and conduct of our meeting, appreciating the efforts of the club and providing useful observations to help us further improve our future sessions.

🌟 TLCS Bilingual Toastmasters Club – August Chapter Meeting 🌟

Our August Chapter Meeting was conducted with the inspiring theme “Voices of Unity”, celebrating the spirit of Singapore’s 61st National Day and the power of diverse voices coming together through respect, learning, communication and fellowship. 🇸🇬

🤖 🔥 SPECIAL DEBATE SEGMENT – AI: A THREAT OR A BOON FOR SOCIETY?

One of the major highlights of the meeting was our engaging debate on:

“Artificial Intelligence – A Threat or a Boon for Society?”

Eight speakers presented thought-provoking arguments from both perspectives, covering AI in healthcare, scientific research, productivity, time-saving, employment, privacy, autonomous weapons, human interaction and responsible AI governance.

The lively exchange of ideas demonstrated that AI itself is neither simply good nor bad — the impact of AI depends on how responsibly we develop, understand, regulate and use it.

TLCS Bilingual Toastmasters Club - Ignite Your Voice! 🎤

What an inspiring and empowering morning at our TLCS Bilingual Chapter Meeting held at SINDA, Singapore.

This was the 1st meeting held on 19 July of the new term 2026-2027, marking the beginning of another exciting journey of learning, leadership, and growth.
