Event: Pongal Celebration & Soft Launch of Hope Village@KBRC - Programme for MDWs only
Date: 18-Jan 2026, Sunday
Time: 12-3pm (Please note that this is a designated programme timing for the MDWs)
Venue: Hope Village @ Kaki Bukit Recreation Centre, Community Hall
Entrance point: Please use the MAIN entrance (carpark gantry)

Here is the brief tentative programme:
1130am: Open for registration for event
12pm: Health Check-Up, Games/Karaoke in Community Hall, Chillax with Friends (No chairs set-up)
1.30pm: Opening Dance Performances
1.45pm: Zumba
2.05pm: Tele-Match games
2.45pm: Closing Dance
3pm: Clearing up the Hall, preparing to join the rest of the event at Hope Village till 8pm!

What to do next
- If you have not registered as a Hope Village member, please do so at https://hopevillage.sg/register
- On the Hope Village portal, mark that you will be attending the event

Food matters
- 150 Bento will be provided from 12pm onwards, first come first serve, 1 per registered MDW.
- You are free to bring your own food, if you like too. There is a food court in KBRC and minimart too.
- Do bring your picnic mat if you have!

Programme and Activities
- You will be welcomed with small group games, karaoke and tele-match games.
- Dance performances and Zumba-along with our fellow ADEO talents.
- More information on health check-up will be provided later.

- Cash Prizes up to $1000 to be won! (Yes! You may be the blessed winner for this!)

One Community, Many Stories โ€” Racial Harmony Day ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿค

On 27 July 2025, over 150 sisters celebrated Racial Harmony Day at Kranji Recreation Centre, with almost 30 sisters shining brightly as they show their moves at our Traditional Costume Fashion Show, representing cultures from the Philippines, Indonesia, India, and Myanmar!

Also, our Traditional Dance Performances by Manis Dancers, OFW SG Dance Group, and SMV Dancers lit up the stage with pride and joy!

A big thank you to our partners, and for your support for this event and also to the MDW Community. Also, your gifts were awesome! To our youth volunteers , thank you for your energy and for bringing so much joy through traditional games!

Special shoutout to for sponsoring soymilk and refreshing our sisters with your kindness. for giving the MDWs pretty preloved/new clothes!

On 13 July 2025, our sisters came together for a special Literature & Poetry Writing Event, a safe space to express their journeys, dreams, and hopes through writing.

With much joy, we welcomed guest speaker Rea M. Maac and moderator Lora Jane, who introduced different poetry styles and encouraged the sisters to write from the heart.

This event is part of our SG60 celebrations, honoring Singaporeโ€™s 60th birthday by expressing the voices of Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs).
