Much has been said about this lengthy corridor, but there’s one thing we've wondered: What about the people living there?

Well done 150 Pasir Ris. That's the kampung spirit. 👍🏻

Well done 150 Pasir Ris. That's the kampung spirit. 👍🏻

[Our Heroes]
The recent fire at Blk 150 Pasir Ris (which was reported by the media) could have turned out very differently if not for the quick actions of these three gentlemen, led by Mr Kayden Zaqarya - who was visiting his wife’s aunt.

The family initially thought they heard an ice cream truck, but quickly realised it was a fire alarm. Within 15 minutes, they were on the scene, doing what they could to put out the fire — even before Singapore Civil Defence Force arrived. Their courage and decisiveness in that critical window made a real difference. Kayden shared that a Chinese uncle was also at the scene on that day but they were not able to link up with him after the incident.

Their actions reflect a deep sense of selflessness and responsibility.

I also listened to their constructive feedback on how the firefighting processes on the ground could be improved. I appreciate their insights, and I will be working with Pasir Ris-Changi Town Council to see how we can strengthen these.

Super glad to find time to drop by yesterday to personally thank them and present certificates of appreciation, and to meet their families as well.

Above all, this is a reminder that in moments of need, we look out for one another - across races and across neighbourhoods. We are, at the end of the day fellow Singaporeans 🇸🇬 .

📢 Important Reminder

We continue to help residents who are facing neighbour-related issues, and our intention has always been to support and guide people towards proper resolution.

However, we would like to clarify one important point — we are unable to assist cases where there is no clear identity or when people choose to remain behind locked or fake accounts without any willingness to engage properly. Ie. Jerome Fs.

For help to be effective, there must be openness and basic cooperation in communication.

We also want to be very clear: this page is not created for attacks, accusations, or revenge against anyone. Our focus is always on constructive assistance and peaceful resolution of disputes.

We encourage everyone to remain respectful, responsible, and factual when seeking help or sharing concerns.

Thank you for your understanding.

In 2024, a “racist victim” named Jerome FS reached out to us for help regarding his China neighbour. Jerome was previously staying in a private property before downgrading to a HDB flat. (You may search our posts in 2024)

In 2025, Jerome FS, together with Genevieve Tham, Serene Tham, Justice Yee, PS Liu and a few others, began targeting one of our community followers who joined the SG Renovation 新加坡裝修行業. She was looking for a service. They took screenshots and accused her of using a “fake account” when she was seeking help. Her (real) name is Angel Lee.

Instead of offering support, they chose to publicly call her out. Multiple individuals; Jerome FS, Genevieve Tham, Serene Tham, Justice Yee, PS Liu and others criticised and questioned her, accusing her of running multiple fake accounts when in reality, she only used a display photo of a celebrity that shares the same name as her. Jerome FS even went to the extent of screenshotting her changing photo.

For context, our community members have met Ms Angel Lee in real life, along with her friends on Facebook. She is a real person.

Today, we are glad to share that Ms Angel Lee has successfully resolved her neighbour issues since mid 2025 through CDRT. We initially chose not to publicise this, but recently received screenshots from an Umbrage member regarding Jerome FS.

Ironically, Jerome FS is now facing his own situation unresolved since 2024. Based on the screenshots, he mentioned that the noise may not even be coming from the China neighbour, yet he continues to make accusations. It is also noted that he has since been admitted to IMH. We are very glad to hear that.

It is truly unfortunate to see how some individuals; Jerome FS, Genevieve Tham, Serene Tham, Justice Yee, PS Liu and others chose to focus on wrongfully exposing and judging others instead of helping. There were also instances where help was promised but not followed through.

At the end of the day, this situation is a reminder that how we choose to treat others matters. When someone is struggling, especially with something as distressing as neighbour disputes or noise issues, what they need is support, patience, and understanding, not judgment, or public shaming.

Today it may be someone else; tomorrow, it could be any one of us. As a community, we should focus less on tearing people down and more on offering genuine help.

Real support doesn’t come from screenshots or comments, it comes from showing up, listening, and doing what we can to make things better. Let’s choose to be kind, responsible, and constructive. That’s what truly makes a difference.

We wish Jerome Fs the best.

A Very Well-Played Narrative Control by the NFH in Boon Keng

What the public sees and what actually happens are not always the same thing.

This incident highlights a classic case of narrative control — where a single recorded reaction becomes the entire story, while years of alleged disturbances remain unseen.

Based on accounts from multiple neighbours, disturbances were said to have occurred over a long period: loud knocking, banging on shared structures, and disruptions during early morning hours.

All residents declined to be named, citing fear of retaliation by the man.

Eventually, one emotional reaction was caught on CCTV. That moment — detached from its context — went viral.
The narrative instantly shifted.

The person who recorded and released the video was framed as the victim, while the individual reacting became the sole focus of public condemnation. This is a well-known pattern in long-running neighbour disputes: provoke quietly, record selectively, and allow public opinion to do the rest.

This does not excuse property damage or inappropriate behaviour. Wrong actions remain wrong.
However, it raises an important question:

Should a single viral clip erase years of alleged harassment simply because those moments were never recorded?

In reality, virality is not evidence.
It rewards clarity and emotion — not truth or context.

Cases like this remind us why disputes should be handled through proper channels:
early documentation,
collective reporting,
mediation,
and legal processes that assess patterns, not isolated moments.

Public shaming based on partial footage may feel decisive, but it often silences those who lacked the foresight — or capacity — to document every provocation.

Narrative control is powerful.
But justice should rely on facts, consistency, and due process, not the most shareable clip.
