一朵小小的花，够不够诚心？🌸
很久以前，年轻的儒童用五百银钱买了五朵花，只为一个愿：“愿我得成佛，度脱诸十方。”燃灯佛为他授记：将来成佛，号释迦牟尼。

Is one small flower enough? Long ago, the young seeker Rutong spent five hundred silver coins on five flowers for one wish: to become a Buddha and free all beings. The Buddha Dipankara foretold that he would become Shakyamuni.

一位从没见过痛苦的王子，第一次走出宫门，看见了老人、病人和送葬的队伍。车夫说：每个人都会，没有人能例外。这就是佛法说的“生老病死”。

"Will this happen to me too?" A prince who had never seen suffering stepped outside the palace and saw an old man, a sick man and a funeral. "Everyone does," said his charioteer. "No one is spared." Buddhism calls this birth, ageing, sickness and death.

杂货店里笑呵呵的大肚佛，是财神吗？🤔
其实他是弥勒菩萨，“弥勒”翻成中文叫“慈氏”，就是满怀慈心的那一位。一千多年前的布袋和尚，临终留下“弥勒真弥勒”的偈子，人们相信他就是弥勒的化身。

Is the laughing Buddha in the shop a God of Wealth? He's actually Maitreya, "the Kind One". Over a thousand years ago, the cloth-bag monk Budai left a final verse, and people came to believe he was Maitreya in disguise.

射向佛陀的箭，为什么全都变成了花？🪷
魔王来考验他，他用右手轻触大地，大地为他作证。所以龙山寺这尊白玉佛，右手正轻轻触着大地。

Why did the arrows shot at the Buddha turn into flowers? He touched the earth with his right hand, and the earth bore witness. That's why our white jade Buddha's right hand touches the earth.

一尊观音像，如何变成一座百年古寺？🙏

1913年，转武法师只带着一尊观音像来到新加坡，搭起几间小屋为病人治病。1925年，陈文烈出资扩建，用从中国运来的建材，1926年建成了今天的大殿，它也是新加坡战前最后几座传统木梁架建筑之一。

为什么佛教徒见面都说“阿弥陀佛”？🪷
一位国王出家成了法藏比丘，发下四十八大愿，成为无量光的阿弥陀佛。阿嬷说：念着念着，心就静了。

Why do Buddhists greet each other with "Amituofo"? A king became the monk Dharmakara, made 48 great vows and became the Buddha of Infinite Light.

Why does everyone turn to Guan Yin when life is hard? She is the one who hears the cries of the world, and Leong San See itself began with a single Guan Yin statue in 1913.
