🌳 Last 19Jul Saturday, we came together to plant 27 trees along the footpath at Harvey Crescent Playground and help volunteer some art craft activities — playing part in NParks’ One Million Trees Movement and supporting our East Coast Sustainability & Green Plan.
Organised by Changi Simei Community Club and Youth Network, and supported by NParks, Harvey Community Gardeners, and dedicated community volunteers, the event began with a briefing by NParks’ Ms Nishy and the Nature Kakis Appointment Presentation—a meaningful step in strengthening community-led greening efforts.
One of the highlights was the Harvey Gardeners’ farm-to-table experience 🥗—residents enjoyed fresh salad and herbal drinks made from produce grown right in our community garden, and brought home small harvest packs 🌿. A true showcase of how gardening nurtures both community and the environment.
We ended on a creative note with pressed flower bookmark-making 🌸, lovingly guided by community volunteer Genevieve Tarriela together with Jenifer Fabre and Mark Fabre—adding a thoughtful, handmade touch to a memorable morning.
A big thank you for the opportunity.
