After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close this page.

With Ravi' passing and the recent changes to Meta's policies and content requirements, we are no longer able to operate this page in a way that aligns with our goals and the information we wish to share.

We didn't just want to disappear or fade into oblivion. We want to take this moment to sincerely thank everyone who has followed, supported, commented, and engaged with us over the years. Your encouragement and conversations have meant a great deal, and we're truly grateful to have built this community together. There is no room to support the death penalty nor to turn a blind-eye to state-sanctioned executions especially for non-violent drug offenses. Miscarriages of Justice do happen. We believe in second chances.

We wish you all the very best for the future and that you continue to fight the fight wherever and whenever the opportunity arises. Whilst SADPC no longer remains a group, we will be supporting other organisations such as Transformative Justice Collective, Anti-Death Penalty Asia Network (ADPAN), Capital Punishment Justice Project, The Death Penalty Project and Amnesty International in our own ways.

Amnesty International says Malaysiaโ€™s death row population has dropped to just 97 inmates, with fewer new death sentences and more commutations signalling a major shift away from capital punishment.

PETALING JAYA: The number of inmates on death row in Malaysia has fallen to a historic low of 97, down from more than 1,200 in previous years, as courts increasingly commute sentences and impose fewer new ones, Amnesty International said today.
