Project Ocean Therapy

Project Ocean Therapy Project Ocean Therapy was launched in April 2018 in conjunction with World Autism Month by Singapore-based non-profit social enterprise Grace Mission SG Ltd.

We aspire to help individuals with autism hone water sports skills through Stand Up Paddling, build self-confidence, develop mindfulness, as well as raise physical, emotional, social and mental wellness. Founded by fellow ocean lovers Pastor Andrew and Grace Choo, they hope to spread the healing powers of the ocean to the special needs. Supported by SUP Ventures, the programme aims to foster inclu

sion in sports for autistic youths and their families. Running weekly at Sentosa with the support of volunteer SUP guides, the programme is developed in a structured manner that allows participants to gradually advance in their paddling skills, water confidence and even social skills.

Out at sea, there’s no rush β€” only rhythm.

Through our journey together, we’ve seen our POT young adults learn to trust themselves, make their own choices, and grow into their independence at their own pace. Out here, the sea doesn’t demand; it allows space, patience, and quiet courage to unfold.

Big love to our youths, their incredible supportive parents, and our coaches who hold that space for growth gently πŸ’™ .

Hello friends πŸ’œ Just a little reminder that everything will be alright.

The challenges we face may feel heavy at times, but they are only temporary. Wave by wave, stroke by stroke, we keep moving forward with purpose, supporting one another and turning trials into triumphs.

We’re stronger together. 🌊✨

🚨 A Call to our Ocean & Watersports Community in Singapore

Sport Singapore has commissioned a nationwide study to assess the current and future landscape of water and sea sports in Singapore. This is an important opportunity for our community to ensure that ocean access and watersports continue to grow in a meaningful and inclusive way.

πŸ”— Survey link:
https://globaleysurvey.ey.com/jfe/form/SV_8FXWOzUlRveaCr4?Q_CHL=qr

The study aims to:
β€’ Assess the current supply and demand of water and sea sports
β€’ Forecast future participation and facility needs
β€’ Identify gaps in infrastructure and resources for sustainable development

With significant developments planned around Sentosa, Kallang and Marina Bay in the coming years, it is critical that the voices of the watersports community are represented β€” including those who rely on the ocean for wellness, rehabilitation, and therapeutic programmes.

At Project Ocean Therapy, we see firsthand how access to the sea can transform lives. Ensuring that safe and accessible spaces remain available is essential for both the growth of watersports and the communities that benefit from them.

🌊 We encourage paddlers, swimmers, sailors, adaptive sports participants, and ocean lovers to take a few minutes to complete this survey and share it widely. Your input will help shape the future of watersports and ocean access in Singapore.

Together, we can advocate for a future where the ocean remains accessible, inclusive, and beneficial for all. 🌊
