[🤝 People's Association Community Seminar 2026]

How can we use AI in our grassroots work while keeping the human touch?

That was the focus of this year’s PA Community Seminar.

One key takeaway from Deputy Chairman of PA and Minister Edwin Tong’s keynote was that AI must always be guided by human purpose and oversight.

AI can help us work more efficiently and improve how we serve residents. But the conversations at the void deck, the time spent listening to residents, and the relationships we build over time remain just as important.

At the heart of grassroots work is holding hands and touching hearts. Technology can help us do our work better, but it is the human connection that gives our work meaning.

A big thank you to all our community volunteers, grassroots leaders (GRLs), community partners and PA People's Association staff for the work you do every day. A special shoutout to Tengah CO Tengah Community Hub for all the hard work behind the scenes! 🫡

[🏡 House Visit at Blk 231B Tengah Drive – Garden Vale]

It was good to catch up with familiar faces and meet more families at Blk 231B! 😊

Johnny, a ship captain, shared his interest in community gardening. It would be lovely to see more neighbours come together through gardening. 🌱

Serene shared how her family has built close friendships with their neighbours. It was also nice to hear about her involvement in Tengah’s Women’s Executive Committee.

Thank you to all the residents for welcoming us and taking the time to chat with us and share their stories.

Every visit gives us a chance to get to know our residents a little better. It is these everyday conversations and connections that make Garden Vale and Tengah a more welcoming place to call home. ❤️

[🏡 Bringing Care Closer to Home in Tengah | 把乐龄与社会关怀带到家门口]

As Tengah grows, so must the support available to our residents.

I’m glad to share two important developments: Tengah’s first Family Service Centre and Active Ageing Centre.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Service Centre | 家庭服务中心

Located at Blk 225A Tengah Garden Avenue, the centre will be operated by Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities (德教太和观), providing counselling and casework for families facing life’s challenges, and linking them to relevant support services.

🌿 Active Ageing Centre | 乐龄活动中心

We are also working with the Agency for Integrated Care - AIC Singapore (AIC) on Tengah’s first Active Ageing Centre, proposed for Blk 121C Tengah Drive. It will provide opportunities for seniors to stay active, make friends and remain connected to the community.

Through our engagement with residents, we know how important it is to have care and support close to home. We will continue working with our partners to build a Tengah where families feel supported, seniors stay connected, and help is within reach.

[🦜 Family Day Outing 2026 @ Bird Paradise]

Today is World Animal Day, so here’s a look back at our Family Day at Bird Paradise a couple of weeks ago. 🐦

On 20 September, about 1,000 residents from Chua Chu Kang GRC and Bukit Gombak SMC, including many families from Tengah, came along for a day at Bird Paradise.

We started the morning at the Sky Amphitheatre with the Wings of the World show. After that, families went off to explore the park, grab a bite and spend the rest of the day at their own pace.

We spotted quite a few familiar Tengah faces along the way — families we’ve met around the estate, now enjoying a day out together. It was also nice seeing residents from different parts of CCK and Bukit Gombak meeting each other.

Thank you to everyone who came, and to our volunteers and organising teams who put the day together.
Hope everyone had a good day out! ❤️
